HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-08/20/1992 Minutes of regular meeting of the Mattituck Park
Commissioners held at the Park District office on August 20,
1992 at 7:30 P.M. with all Commissioners present.
Chairman Adams sworm in the Inspectors of Election,
Richard Mathews and Bonnie Adams at 7:00 P.M. and declared
the polls open for voting on the 1993 budget.
At 7:30 P.M. the meeting was called to order. Pat
Clark, Peg Litchhult and Anne Bialeski were introduced at
the meeting. They stated their presence was for a skate
board court at Vet's Park which they feel is the most
logical place to have one. The Commissioners listened to
their request and then stated that the site would be an
appropriate spot because it could be a three-fold purpose.
1. Parking for the beach. 2. If Fire Department re-
activated their racing team they would use it. 3. A street
hockey 75 x 150 foot court.
Commissioners asked the ladies to get a price to see
what the charge would be for blacktopping the area in
question and report back with this information.
On motion of Pete Sabat, seconded by Ed Adams and
carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were approved
as presented.
The Commissioners reported that the permits for
bulkheading will be issued in the next few days.
Ed Adams proposed the following resolution:
RESOLUTION made to change the monthly meeting night
from the third Wednesday of the month to the third Thursday
of the month from September through December.
On motion of Jerry Goehringer, seconded by Pete Sabat
and carried, the resolution was adopted.
Letter was read from Mrs. Mimi Ashton regarding a
situation her son and sons-in-law encountered at the
softball site. They were told by men on the field, not
particularly playing ball, that they could not use the field
and to leave. She felt it appalling where she pays taxes.
Ed Adams has talked to the ball players and with Mrs.
Ashton.
The cellular phone is working.
Barbara Droskoski, beach manager, called about the
beach inspections. The breakwater site had a violation -
the electric was on but the water was not hooked up and the
beach permit was not posted. The vet's park site did not
have the beach permit posted.
The ladies' softball league complained that the
bathroom locks were changed. They asked that they get a key
next year and they will take care of securing same.
The burner for the district office was $1600.00.
However, our boiler is not sophisticated and the parts for
the hook up will run the cost up. Commissioner are to hold
up the work until they can check it out further.
Mr. Siegmund of TaxPac wants a breakdown of where the
1992 budget monies were spent.
On motion of Pete Sabat, seconded by Jerry Goehringer
and carried, the boat ramp key and permit will be $12 in
1993 and $4.00 for beach permits.
The following bills were ordered paid on motion of Pete
Sabat, seconded by Jerry Goehringer and carried:
