HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-12/17/1992 Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held on December 17, 1992 at 7:30 P.M. at the Park District office with all Commissioners present. Chairman Adams swore the Tellers of Election, Judy Thilberg and Bonnie Adams in at 7:00 P.M. for the vote to elect a Commissioners for a term of three years to fill the position of Gerard Goehringer whose term expires December 31, 1992. On motion of Pete Sabat, seconded by Ed Adams and carried, the. Secretary's minutes were approved as presented. On motion of Gerarf Goehringer, seconded by Pete Sabat and carried the Treasurer's report was approved and the following bills were ordered paid: Cash $ Cash in time Total BARCO Auto Leasing LILCO New York Telephone Penny Lumber Cellular One John Cushman John M. Russell Nine 627.44 61.322.12 $61,949.56 527.04 486.75 173.88 183.93 43.13 116.00 780.00 37.04 175.00 3,039.52 449.00 Ed Adams reported that Mr. Cibulsky of Sea Breeze said to wait until spring to put down the black top and seal the shuffle board courts at Veteran's Park. Commissioners unanimously approved. Ed Adams reported the circulator in the Park District Building on Main Road was working. However all wiring is to be replaced. Pete Sabat reported that the stumps at Aldrich Lane will be removed in the spring before time to sue the fields. Ed Adams stated the basement still has not been sealed with Thoroughseal. John Cushman reported that Southold Town has given the District $120 to help defray the cost of lighting at the Aldrich Lane site. Ed Adams said that because of the storm, Veteran's Park has been closed due to a large hole in the parking lot. An estimate is being gotten to fix the situation. No one has heard anything about the possibility of federal funds for storm damages but all cleanup is to be documented very carefully as pictures and documentation of times and costs will be needed should funds become available. Ed Adams'said he was getting S & L to blow the irrigation lines out at the ball park since the storm, as a safe guard. just Commissioners discussed putting up two rows of snow fence at Bailey's Beach. Pictures are to be taken of the boat ramp because it is getting undermined. Gerard Goehringer said the Love Lane bulkhead cannot be repaired for $19,000.00 because the damage is extensive. He suggests going out to bid. He had a proposal of $4000.00 for engineers fees in connection with the construction to be done with the bulkhead with approximately 125-135 feet in question including the return which goes adjacent to the Town boat ramps with a $500 fee to be paid up f front. Ed Adams reminded Commissioners and officers that the meetings commencing in January would be the first Thursday of the month. On motion of Pete Sabat, seconded by Ed Adams and carried, Mr. Kowalski is to be paid $1000.00 for stuccoing and thoroughsealing the District basement. Commissions unanimously agreed the office needed a good cleaning. Tom Taylor's business MST is to be contacted to clean the floor. No further business to come before the meeting, it was on motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Pete Sabat and carried, adjourned. At 9:00 P.m. the polls were ordered closed. Tellers counted the ballots. 14 ballots counted. 14 votes for Gerard Goehringer, No write in ballots, No void ballots. Gerard Goehringer to hold office of Commissioner of the Park District for three years commencing January 1, 1993.
