HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-01/21/1987 Minutes of organizational meeting of the Com- missioners of the Mattituck Park District held on January 21, 1987 at The Park District Office, with all Co~mmissioners present. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. On motion of Pete Sabat, seconded by Jerry Goehringer, Mr. Edward Adams was appointed Chairman for the 1987 year. On motion of Jerry Goehringer, seconded by Pete Sabat, the law firm of Wickham, Wickham & Bressler was appointed to represent khe Park District for the year 1987. On motion of Jerry Goehringer, seconded by Peter Sabat, The North Fork Bank and Trust Company was appointed official depositary for the ]987 year. On motion of Jerry Goehringer, secondedc by Pete Sabat, the Long Island Traveler and Suffolk Times were appointed as official papers of the District for the 1987 year. On motion of Jerry Goehringer, seconded by Peter Sabat, Madeline Haas was appointed as secretary for the District for the year ]987. The Treasurer's report was approved as fo]]ows: Regular Account Money Maker Account Total $8,456.00 4,608.99 $13,064.99 The following bills were ordered paid: Lilco Gen $ 17.00 N.Y.Telephone " 203.19 Mattituck Auto Parts" 115.14 Malvese " 5,150.00 Southampton Lumber " 348.65 Twin Fork Fire Ext. " 182.93 Raynor-Suter " 370.84 Penny Lumber " 361.37 Ray Nine " 375.00 Mr. Bressler said that if sign is posted that cars 'will'be towed away if not parked properly. ;However, Park Commissioners have to have an arrangement with the tow people Arrangements with Marty Griffin will not be made as M{. Griffin does not want responsibility. Jim Cox to check with Tony Antongeorgi about towing. Mr. Bressler said that permi~io~,n~.~ha~b~e~n received from DEC for work to be done at ~. He said Notice of Bid is being prepared. Mr. Cox: Poles and chains are to be put up closing off the right of way the MarkeC Place has made over the parking lot on Pike Street to Pike Street. Alock is to be put on chain and Market Place asked if they would like a key. Should they misuse this privilege, the lock will be taken off and chain made permanent. 2. Opening behind Metro Rental into parking lot on Pike Street to be closed up. Mr. Cox to put up chain. Mr. Goehringer to see Mr. Lessard about the Sound site. Mr. Goehringer asked about the ball players on the S]o Pitch teams. He said Sigsbee Association complained about traffic during ball season. They are coming to meeting with complaints. The people will be told it is a police matter not Park District. Mr. Bressler asked who was the instigator of the park merger with Cutchogue. Many things have to be wighed before anything is done. He stated that a special statute in Albany was done for the formation of the Mattituck Park District. Jim Cox gave information regarding portable phones. Co~missioners to look into this matter and get more material on this. $1700 for portables; $29 per month for communication line; $3 for 911 only; each call 55¢ per minute.
