Commissioner Murphy discussed the storm damage
monies. Southold Town contacted Inter-County Agency
Affairs. The county has been trying to get the
money because it is in Albany. Joe Sawicki, our
Assemblyman. has been contacted and in turn Albany
will be contacted.
'~A letter was received from Bergen Oil stating that
one year free service woul~_~=extended to us if oil was
purchased from their company. Oil is used at the Love
Lane site. Letter to be signed and returned in the
affirmative.
Jim Cox, custodian, to take the flag down at the
Love Lane site.
Mr. Burke reported having had a telephone conversa-
tion with David Saland who stated he o~raed several acres
around the AldriCh Lane si~? He indicated that becaus
of the high intensity lights he could not sell his
property. Mr. Murphy reported that the Building Depart-
ment of Southold Town felt that being the school and
park districts were involved, it was not necessary to
have a building permit. This had been discussed at pub-
lice meetings and the establishment of a recreational
center had been publicized in the newspapers. The
Park District purposely kept the field off the Main Road
and no party came forward to voice any opposition to
the recreational facility.
Mr. Russell Nine came to speak about the Scouter'
Lodge. He would like a lease before they do anything.
The Scouts want to move the building toward the road
about 30 feet and use some of the existing foundation.
They discussed the Scouts choice of a steel building
and how often the building was actually used. It was
used all year long two or three nights a week. West
end groups would use it and donate funds to the Scouts
for its use. Mr. Murphy was to talk to Mr. Ray Dean
about rzinag the exiting building.
No business to come before the meeting, the meeting
was adjourned.
