HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-12/19/1984 Minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held on December 19, 1984 at the Mattituck High School Library with all Commissioners present except Mr. Murphy. Commissioner Burke swore in the Inspector of Election at 7:00 P.M. - Ruth Krause, Clarence Bennett The minutes were approved as read. Reeve Traveler Printery 131.38 9.35 30.00 111.95 6.64 32.55 545.00 3000.00 25.00 Mr. Graeb announced that payment was received from the Gatz family and the Mauro family for the damage done at Veterans' Memorial Park. - $120.00 each. Mr. Burke said that a complete inventory has been done by Jim Cox of all the equipment in the buildings. Roy Reeve Agency notified the Commissioners that to raise insurance coverage to $5,000,000 under the umbrella policy would cost the district $2650. The raise is $400 per $1,000,000. This has been tabeled until 1985. Commissioners said that the Distraint has acquired the Boy Reeve property on Main Ro~d, Mattituck. It is being donated to us at an appraised value of $70,000. We are responsible for reimbursing Roy Reeve Insurance Inc. for the cost of the fuel in the tanks and we have agreed to send Allen Dickerson, who is the President of Roy Reeve Insurance Inc., a letter acknowl- edging that he is donating the burgu]ar and fire alarm systems, the value of which is $2000.00. The taxes have to be paid to Southold Town for the 1985 year. Mr, Goehringer made the following motion: It is hereby resolved that the Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District are acquiring the former Roy Reeve Insurance property on the Main Road, Mattituck. The closing costs will be limited to prepayment of taxes and fuel oil in the tanks and other utilities. The Treasurer is hereby authorized to borrow by way of a note the sum of $3000.00 for a period of 60 days to cover the same. Motion seconded by Mr. Burke and carried. Commissioners Goehringer is hereby authorized to take care of insurance coverage of Reeve property and buildings. The Love Lane floats will be coming out of the water on December 22nd. Mr. Burke is to see Mr. Dean about fencing for Wolf Pit Lane to keep cars and trucks from getting to the back of the lake. The lighting at Wolf Pit is being done by Bardley. No further business to come before the meeting, the meeting was adjourned. At 9:00 P.M. the polls for the efection of a commissioner to replace Mr. Burke whose term expires on December 31, 1984 were declared closed. The tellers gave the following tally of votes: 10 ballots counted, 10 ballots cast for Mr. Burke.
