Minutes of the Organizational Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the
Mattituck Park District held on January 6, 2000 at the Park District office on Main
Road, Mattituck, New York, with all Commissioners present (Gerard Goehringer,
Walter Sabat and Chris Talbot), together with Treasurer, John Cushnaan and
Secretary, Madeline Haas, and Labor Crew Leader, James Cox, Sr.
The first order of business was to have the appointment of a Chairman for the
year 2000. Walter Sabat nominated Gerard Goehringer for Chairman of the Board of
Commissioners. Mr. Goehringer accepted the nomination and on motion of Walter
Sabat, seconded by Chris Talbot and carried. Mr. Goehringer was appointed
Chairman for the year 2000. However, Mr. Ooehringer said the summer months were
bad for him due to his job and suggested a Vice Chairman. On motion of Gerard
Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, Chris Talbot was appointed Vice
Chairman of the Board for the year 2000 to.act in Mr. Goehringer's absence.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, the
finn of Wickham, Wickham & Bressler P.C. was appointed attorney for the Board for
2000.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried,
Suffolk County National Bank, North Fork Bank and MBIA/CLASS were appointed
banking institutions of the District for 2000.
On motion of Gerard Ooehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried,
Suffolk Times and Traveler-Watchman were appointed legal publications of the
District for 2000.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by'YWalter Sabat and carried,
Madeline Haas was appointed Secretary of the Board for the year 2000.
The February meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2000.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, the
minutes of the December meeting were approved as presented.
On motion of Walter Sabat, .~econded by Gerard Ooehringer and carried, the
following Treasurer's report was approved and the following bills paid:

The old tractor was discussed and Mr. Ooeluinger stated that Mr. Grim said
the value of the machine was nearly nothing. Mr. Cox said the hookup for the
backhoe for a new machine would cost $2,600.00.
Mr. Russell Nine is to replace the locks on the Scouters' Lodge and get new
keys.for the Commissioners.
Chris Talbot is to get prices on fencing at the Aldrich Lane site which fence
was a requirement in the Lease with Mattituck-Cutchogoe School District.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carded, Gail
Faircloth is to receive $8.00 per hour fgr office time for the year 2000.
Mr. Goehringer said that there was a request from John Harrison to have his
son Christopher work as a laborer for the District this summer. Gail Faireloth to get
an application to him.
Chamber of Commerce members, Jeff Strong, Erik Kruk, George Soloman
and Tom DiNapolis entered the meeting for discussion and information on the
basketball court to be built on the Aldrich Lane site.
The site plan was discussed and Mr. Goehfinger said he has been dealing with
Attorney Bressler and that the Board members other than himself, have not had the
opportunity to see the Site Plan as yet. He further stated that Mr. George Carroll was
going to do some site work at Aldrich Lane for the basketball court. The Site Plan
was discussed at length and it was decided that a 2 foot burro be erected along
Aldrich Lane and the north side of the court with spreading yews planted on the top.
Also, inside parking lot was discussed with no backing out on the med.
Mr. Goehringer said the Southold Town is allowing the tree debris to be taken
to the landfill with no charge. Mattituck Sanitation is providing the dumpster and Mr.
Rehm providing the carting gratus.
Survey work by Mr. Ingegno is to be done Tuesday, January 11th setting the
corners.
The Chamber asked that Jim Cox work with Tom DiNapolis as overseer,
After much discussion Gerard Goehringer made a motion, seconded by Chris
Talbot and carried, to accept tbe site plan. Secretary to notify the school district as
soon as possible of such acceptance and ask they expedite the matter as quickly as
possible.
The Chamber members felt the grant money should go to the Chamber.
Chamber members left the meeting.
A discussion by the Commissioners was had on contracting out the mowing.
This will have to be put out to bid.
Flawless Floors is to sand the main floor of the Scouters' Lodge.
Fees for Scouters'Lodge set by unanimous vote of the Commissioners:
$6.00 per head for Scouts for I or 2 nights
$125.00 for parties
$400.00 for weddings
With applications for parties or, weddings a $100.00 deposit is required which
will be refunded after the Commissioners inspect the building and find it in good
condition.
With applications for Scouts a $50.00 deposit is required which will be
refunded after the Commissioners inspect the building and find it in good condition.

On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Chris Talbot and carried, the
above payroll figures for the 2000 budget were approved.

On motion of Walter Sabat, seconded by Gerard Goehringer and carried all
officers and employees of the Park District are to be insured with Public Liability
Insurance in the sum of $2,000,000.00 with a $2,500.00 deductible at a cost of
$2,720.00.
No further business to come before the meeting on motion of Walter Sabat,
seconded by Gerard Goehringer and ca,ed, the meeting was adjourned.
