Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of
the Matt/tuck Park District held on February 2, 2000, at the Park District Office
on Main Road, Mattituck, New York, with all Commissioners, Chairman Gerard
Goehringer, Walter Sabat, and Chris Talbot, present, together with John
Cushman, Treasurer and Madeline Haas, Secretary. James Cox, Labor Crew
Leader was also present.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Chris Talbot and carried,
the January minutes were approved as presented.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried,
the following Treasurer's report was approved and the following bills were
ordered paid:

On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Chris Talbot and carried
the following resolution was adopted:
~ RESOLVED, that the Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District
declare a Negative Declaration on the one acre site leased from Mattituck-
Cutchogue School District on Aldrich Lane in Laurel.
The pre-fabbing of the existing tractor backhoe to the new tractor will cost
$2,790.00. Discussion followed and the matter tabled for the March meeting.
Chairman Goehringer reported having met with Doug Cooper, School
Board Member, Dick Lark and Mary Lou Folts, Attorneys for the School District
and Gall Wickham, Attorney for the Park District, about the basketball court at
Aldrich Lane, Laurel. The lease will be for ten (10) years with an option for an
additional ten (10) years, based on the opinion of the Commissioners of the State
Education Department. Mr. Goehringer answered all the questions they presented
to him. Billly Carroll is to cut the tops of the trees at the site and grind the refuse.
Mr. Rehm will pull the stumps out and cart them away.
Jim Cox reported getting a quote of $7000.00 from Mr. Osman to seal and
paint Scouter's Lodge. Bob Shaw and Jim are going up on Saturday to look over
the building. The windows on the south side need to be replaced and sealed.
On March 9th, 2000 the Den Leaders of Cub Scouts are coming to the
meeting.
Chairman Goehringer spoke with Mr. Kaelin who sold us the old tractor.
He said that the tractor is not worth anything as it is. A discussion followed and
Secretary instructed to send a classified ad to the two newspapers used by the
District to sell the Tra~tor "as is".
On motion of Walter Sabat, seconded by Chri~..Talbot, the agreement with
Light House Security for the Scouter's Lodge was sil~ned.~- '
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried,
the following budget modification resolution was adopted:

Treasurer Cushman discussed the procedure of paying bills and payroll
due to a complaint from one of the employees.
Thank you letter from some of the young adults was received thanking the
Park District for having the Wolf Pit Lake smoothed for skating.
The North Fork Beach Volley Ball schedule has been received for the
2000 season.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Chris Talbot and carried,
Jim Cox salary is to be increased from $7.75 per hour to $8.80 per hour.
N:o further business to come before the meeting, on motion of Walter
Sabat, seconded by Chris Talbot and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
