Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commisioners of the
~il~tituck Park District held on May 3, 2001, at the Park District Office on Main Road,
Mattituck, New York, with Commissioners Chits Talbot, Chairman, and Walter Sabat
present, together with John Cushman, Treasurer, Madeline Haas, Secretary, Jim Cox, Sr.
Labor Crew Leader, and Gail Faircloth present. Absent: Gerard Goehringer.
Carla Timpone entered the meeting regarding the admission of out-of-state cars
into the beach parking lots and other general information as to the running of the beaches
and parks. The Commissioners discussed aspects of her questions and to which she said
she felt better in airing her complaints. Commissioners thanked her for coming and she
left the meeting.
On motion of Chris Talbot, seconded by Walter,~abat and carried, the minutes of
the previous meeting were approved as presented, but the Secretary had to add the
information on the awarding of the bids for the playground equipment which took place
on April 6, 2001, the April 5m meeting having been held open to the next night so that the
Commissioners could thoroughly go over the bids against the specifications.
Mrs. Barbara Droskoski entered the meeting. She is the coordinator of the life-
guards for the beach sites. She was invited to attend to let the Commissioners know
about the current season's lifeguards and what equipment she might need for them.
Barbara gave Jim Cox a list of things that must be done before the season opens. She
asked for umbrellas and the necessary sisns and then asked about phones for the life-
guards. The lifeguards start on June 22~, 2001 when the beaches officially open.
~ Mrs. Droskoski suggested having some come out to see where the phones are
being used and what arrangement can be made for the use of them for two to four
months. Walter Sabat to take care of them.
She also asked about the Emergency
Kim Prokop attended the meeting to bring everything up-to-date on the
playground construction being done at the Veterans' Memorial Park.
It was reported that the Conservationists have put a fence up at the Breakwater
where the plovers are nesting.
Gerard Goehringer sent word to the meeting asking if the monthly meetings can
be changed to the second Tuesday of each month. No action was taken.
On motion of Chris Talbot, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried the following
resolution was adopted:
RESOLVED that the following modification be made to the 2001 budget:
Revenue Increase
Gifts and Donations $ 7,675.00
Appropriation Increase
Veterans Park Playground
$ 7,675.00
On motion of Chris Talbot, seconded by Walter Sabat and carded, the following
Treasurer's report was approved and the bills ordered paid as shown below:

seconded by Chris Talbot and carded, the meeting was adjourned.
