HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-12/13/2001 Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held on December 13, 2001, at the Park District Office on Main Road, Mattituck, New York, with Commissioners Chris Talbot, Chairman and Walter Sabat present, together with John Cushman, Treasurer, Ma&line Haas, Secretary, and Jim Cox, Sr., Labor Crow Leader present. Absent: Commissioner Gerard Goehringer. Kim Prokop who served on the playground committee was also present. Chairman Chris Talbot called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. The minutes of the November meeting were tabled until January meeahng due to Secretary being out of town;. On motion of Chris Talbot, seconded by Walter Sabat and carded, the following Treasurer's report was approved and the bills ordered paid as shown below: Cash $ 3,493.26 Cash in Time 0.00 Cash in MBIA/CLASS 24~002.34 Total $ 27,495.60 RECEIVED Bills ordered paid: Morgan Auto Supply Enterprises, Inc. Due to the two deaths the Christmas Party for the employees was postponed to December 15, 2001. The plans for the new building at Veterans' Park have not been completed because Warren Sambach is away. The plans should be ready by the middle of January. Kim Prokop asked if them will be toilets opened all year round after the new building is built. Commissioners felt it would be doubtful during the winter months. It was reported that nails were thrown all over the Yacht Club site driveway and many tires were flattened including the Park District vehicle and a police car. Kim Prokop asked about parking for the playground. Chairman Talbot said the building is going to be a little smaller so the parking lot will probably be a little bigger Chis Talbot is to write a letter to the Board of Education regarding the school students at the Yacht Club during lunch hour. It was reported that the Chamber of Commerce would like to get together with the Park Commissioners about doing something with the ramp at Love Lane. Fax received from Sound Bay General Contractors, Inc. regarding a proposal for work at the Park Office - Cut and remove glass sash above front door due to sagging, Install necessary capping and molding to match existing glass front, Clean up and removal ofdehris. Total job cost - $800.00. On motion of Chris Talbot, seconded by Walter Sabat and camed, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED, that the following modifications be made to the 2001 budget: Revenues To: Appropriated Fund Balance $19,032.00 Appropriations To: Ramp Attendant 1.00 Salaried Personnel 1.00 Veterans' Park Playground 600.00 Supplies and Materials 9,000.00 Telephone 200.00 Electric 500.00 Gas (Propane) 500.00 (Continued on next page) Insurance $ 8,000.00 Site Maintenance 1,200.00 Postage 30.00 From: Equipment Repairs 1,000.00 A general discussion was had on future repairs and building in the District. Jim Cox stated that the mower went out for its yearly service. It was suggested to put bulkheading to hold the wall up as much as possible around the playground Chairman Talbot suggested that when we need snowplowing Jim should call Walter Bialeski. Kim Prokop said she was going to order 47 bricks to fill the orders that have been received. No further business to come ~fore the meeting, on motion of Chris Talbot, seconded by Waler Sabat and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
