Minutes of the Or g an 5- za'c 5_ona 1 Meeting of the Board of Commissioners
of the Mattituck Park District held on January 10, 2002 at the Park District office on
50uth01d Tuwa Clark Main Road, Mattituck, New York, with Commissioners Chris Talbot, Chairman,
Walter Sabat, and Gerard Goehringer, present, together with John Cushman,
Treasurer, Madeline Haas, Secretary and Jim Cox Sr., Labor Crew Leader, present.
Kim Prokop of the Playground Committee was also present.
The first order of business was to have the appointment of a Chairman for the
year 2002. Gerard Goehringer nominated Chris Talbot for Chairman of the Board of
Commissioners. Mr. Talbot accepted the nomination and on motion of Gerard
Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat, and carried Chris Talbot was appointed
Chairman for the year 2002.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, the
firm of Wickham, Wickham & Bressler P.C. was appointed attorney for the Board for
2002.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and camed,
North Fork Bank and MBIA/CLASS were appointed banking institutions of the
District for 2002.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried,
Suffolk Times was appointed legal publication of the District for 2002.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Chris Talbot and carried,
Madeline Haas was appointed Secretary of the Board for the year 2002
On motion of Chris Talbot, seconded by Gerard Goehringer, and carried, the
minutes of the December and January meetings were approved as presented.
Kim Prokop reported she had forty-nine (49) mom bricks paid for. A
discussion was had as to how much longer the bricks should be sold. The
Commissioners advised Kim to advertise that the brick sale will be left open through
the winter until the end of March.
Kim also reported the first graffitti incident at the playground. The slide was
written on by magic marker. She will try to get it off.
Gerard Goehringer said he throught the Jr. Lions' Club name should be on the
sign at Veterans' Park as a contributor to the Playground..
A discussion was had on whether to have the Easter Egg Hunt again this year.
Klm to check with Bill Btadykas about his helping out with the Easter Egg Hunt.
Klm will inquire of him and get back to the Commissioners.
Treasurer John Cushman reported having received new tax money on January
8, 2002.
On motion of Chris Talbot, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, the
following Treasurer's report was approved and the following bills ordered paid:

On motion of Chris Talbot, seconded by Walter Sahat and camed the
following resolution was adopted:
RESOLVED, that the following modifications be made to the 2001 budget as
as follows:
TO:
Site Maintenance/Facility Repairs $ 600.00
Equipment Repairs 1,200.00
Commissioners Fees 200.00
FROM:
Hourly Personnel $ 2,000.00
The Commissioners had a discussion about signs at the different sites to
protect the District from people suing. John Cushman to call Mr. Sheren of Roy
Reeve for advice on how the District can be protected.
Signs for the following sites:
Wolf Pit Lake: Skating at your own risk

No further business to come before the meeting, on motion of Chris Talbot,
seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
The three Commissioners and Mr. Cox then went into Executive Session.
