It was reported that the docks at Love Lane have been taken out of the water.
There are continuous problems going on at the Lodge after each weekly meeting
of the Boy Scouts. Commisioners feel that if this continues the scouts permission to use
the building will be rescinded.
Gail Wickham presented a letter with an offer of purchase of the Park District
office. The offer was for $105,000.00. The letter was from Agawam Albertson Realty
and further stated that the prospective purchaser has asked to have an engineer report,
termite inspection and water test done prior to contract at his expense. The
Commissioners advised Gail Wickham to accept the offer with the condition the building
is being sold "AS IS". Gail advised the Commissioners that the engineer's report be done
before the signing of a contract.
The Commissioners discussed with Gail Wickham the one bid received for the
construction of the new building at Veterans' Park site. The demolition of the building
and removal of concrete is to be off the bid and the bidder said he would deduct
10,000.00 because it wasn't clearly stated in the bid papers.
On motion of Chris Talbot seconded by Walter Sabat and carded, the bid package
for the new building is to be re-bid.. Top figure to be $315,000.00. Notice to Bidders to
be advertised for two weeks and bids opened on November 29, 2002 at 7:30 P.M. at the
Park District office.
No further business to come before the meeting, on motion of Chris Talbot,
seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
