Mr. Williamson reported that he did not do anything about the roof of the new
building that he reported on last month. He wants the Building Department to handle it.
Two proposals for the Aldrich Lane building were received. One from Chris
Rehm Excavation & Drainage in the sum of $3,660.00 for digging the u'eneh for the
footings and wall for the new building, 200 yards fill, and backfill and spread fill The
other from Carl McMann Mason Contractor in the sum of $11,600.00 for the foundation.
John Cushman questioned the sums not going out to bid on the Aldrich Lane site..
Eric Bressler spoke to the Commissioners regarding this question. They do not have to
go out to bid to clear, excavate and put in the foundation at this time.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Tom McCaffery amd carried to go
with the proposal of Carl McMaun for the Aldrich Lane site.
A question was asked if there was a legal way or a proper procedure to be
followed for giving flowers and/or a gift for members of the Park District.?
It was proposed to raise the cost of the keys to the boat ramp to $15.00 for
residents and raise the fee for the summer people. It was also discussed the opening of
the beach at the Yacht Club site. That would mean another life guard.
Lifeguards were discussed. Most of the time they are not sitting on the tower and
paying attention to people in the water. Gerard Goelmnger feels that the Commissioners
should meet with the lifeguards before they are hired to go over the roles and regulation
with them.
Gail Wickham reported she has all the paper work regarding the $10,000.00 from
the State and the papers will be submitted.
Gerard Goehringer thanked Mr. Williamson for all he has done for the Park
District as a volunteer.
It was reported that the week before Labor Day weekend, there was a motorized
hang glider flying around Veterans Park. He was advertising Sea Tow.
Gail Faimloth reported that Tom Gralton with Scout Troop 39 thinks that the
Lodge needs a defibulator. A discussion was had.
Mr. Williamson asked if when the building gets going, is there going to be
someone on the premises for security? Mr. Goehringer said the Park has tried to find
someone.
No further business to come before the meeting, on motion of Gerard Goehringer,
seconded by Jerome Zuhoski and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
