June 11! 1563 Meeting
Meeting of the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park Commission
was held on the ~bove date at the home of Frank B. Rogers st 9.'30
A.M.
Commtssloners Basil D'Emo, and Frank B. Rogers ware present.
C.W.Horton was unable to attend bdeause of illness.
The applications received to fill the position of life
guard were mead and discussed. Richard Wells of Southold was
selected to serve as lifeguard for 5 days a week. Susan Abrams
of Nassau Point was selected to work 2 days a week as alternate
life guard. Hours are to be from 11 A.M. until S P.M. at $1.75
per hour. Life guard is to pick up refuse at beach, hose down
rest rooms, store,boat, etc. after beach closes at 5 P.M.
James Mason will emptty trash cans when necessary at a cost
of $90 per season.
The drawing of the landscaping to be done at the beach
property was discussed. It was accepted and Sterling Nursery
of Cutchogue will be advised to proceed with the work at a ~O~t
of $200 to $250.00.
Mr. D, Emo suggested 6 more trashcans are needed at the
Beach. Other additional purchases include oars, anchor and line
for row boat and one ring buoy and line.
Mr. Rogers is to check with Dickerson Marine regarding
the registration of the row boat at the beach.
It was decided to order 2000 permits to be issued to
Cutchogue-New ~uffolk residents using the beach. These permits
are to be issued by the lifeguards on duty.
Treasurer reported that a check had been received from the
Town of Southold on June 4, 19&3 for ~461.92 from the 1962-1963
Tax Levy.
Bill from Dickerson Marine for aluminum boat costing $175.00
had been mceived and paid from the Special Fund.
T~easurer reported a balance on hand on the Regular fund
of $1253.11 and $~,137~ in the Special Fund.
The matter of installing a pay telephone in the storage
room of the Comfort Station was discussed. It wa~ decided to
contact the N.Y. Telephone Company end request a pay phone be
installed~

M~. Rogers agreed to contact a paper supply company and
order all necessary paper supplies for the rest rooms.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
