June 6, 1964 A meeting of the Cutchogue-New ~uffolk Park District was held at the home of Frank B. ~ogers at 10 A.M. on the above date. The following were present: Corwin Grathwohl, Robert Rehm and Frank B. Rogers. The minutes of the previous meeting were read ~ · Ora~hwohl stated that he had a request from Robert Muir of Mattituck for permission to use the Nassau Point Beach for the swimming instruction program under the auspices of the American Red Cross. The course will start on Monday, June 22nd. until Friday, July 10th. The Red Cross will carry liability insmrance on the bathers. The Commissioners were in favor of this course and Mr. Grathwohl will notify Mr. Muir of the decision. A certificate of insurance will be requested. Susan Abrams and Richard Wells will serve as lifeguards again this season. They will start on June 22nd. until Sept. 8th. The application to operate the bathing beach had been filed with the County Board of Health as required and a permit had been granted for 1964. Mr. Rogers offered t o contact James Mason regarding the clean-up Job at the Beach. He will be asked to clean up the Bsach, clean the comfort station each day and empty the trash cans when necessary. Clerk was asked to contact the N.Y. Telephone Co. and L.i. Lighting Co. to have the telephone and .lights ready for use on June 22nd. Treasurer reported a balance on Hand as of Feb. 4th. of $3,392.$0. Bill of William Wickham ~d been received and paid, leaving a new balance of $2,221.09 in the Regular Account. Balance on hand in the Special Account is $5~4.61. The following bills were presented for payment: Midg!ey & Horton- $50.00 for repair work on screen doors Fred Kaelt$- $42.?2 for lat. installment on Fire, VMN insurance. June 6, 1964 -2- Treasurer reported receipt of a check of $50.00 from the Hartford Fire Insurance Co. to cover repair bill for damage at the Beach. A check for $3,4~d~.07 was also received from t he Town of Southold 1964-1965 Tax Levy. The purchase of b~ach property on the Sound was discussed. Frank Rogers offered to look into the possibility of purchasing some beach property East of the Duck Point Motel on the Sound. There being no further b~siness, the meeting was adjourned. Frances V.
