MINUTES OF Ma~ 1~, 1966 ~ETING A meeting of the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District wes held on the above date at 11 A.M. at the home of Frank B. Rogers. Cow..issioners Corwin Grathwohl and Frank B.~ogers were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read. Mr. Orathwohl stated he had ordered two more benches for the beach. They are to be delivered directly to the Beach and Mr. Mason will erect them. Mr. Grathwohl stated he had talked with Mr. Evans, County Dredging Engineer. Mr. Evans stated "Little Creek" will be dug out and the sand ( not mud) w~li be put on the beach. The meadow to the West line of the Park District Property will also be filled in. No date has been scheduled as yet for this work. It was suggested that the Beach property be fenced in when ~he new road is completed. The permit to operate the bathing beach for 1966 was filled out and signed by Chairman Grathwohl. Clerk was instructed to send s~uae to the County Board of Health. Treasurer reported a balance of $~,319.2~ in the Regular Fund and $282.84 in the Special' Fund. The following bills were a~dited and approved for payment= Pred Kaelin-$~2.?2 (Pits, Eo. and ~&MM) insurance Richard Cron- $50.00 legal fees re. McBride property. Prank Rogers stated he would contact Mr. Maso~and ask him to have the floors painted, the screen door fixed,~he beach cleaned before June 2%th. the opening day for the beach. Ric~hard Wells and Dean Blaikie will be hired as lifeguards for the 1966 season. It was sugsested that the lifeguards wear a shirt with the word "Lifeguard" on it. The following rules were also set up for the lifeguards= 1- Storage doors to the building to be locked at all times. 2-Lifeguards responsible for First Aid Kit and other supplies. 3- Boat must be taken out when beach opens at 11 A.M. and returned to storage when beach closes at 6 P.M. each day. 4- Lifeguard must be on duty and stationed on the tower at all times while bathing is allowed, unless actually engaged ia lifesaving or first aid work. 5- ~ifegu~rd~ ~nly uesponsible for bathers on Park Commission Froper~y cu~ mus~ answer all calls for aid. Mr. Grathwohl also agreed to contact the Road Commr. and request that "No Parking on this side" signs be put up on the West side of the road a~ the beach.
