MINUTES- March 19~. 1966 Meetin~
A Meeting of the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District was
held on the above date at 11 A.M. at the home of ~rank B. Rogers.
Commissioners Corwin Grathwohl, Robert Rehm s~d Frank B.
Rogers were present.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read.
Frank Rogers reported that he had contacted James Mason
regarding the benches at the beach. They had been picked up and
are stored on the north side of the comfort station.
Letter dated Mar. 3, 1966 written by Attorney Richard Cron
to Attorneys Meyer & Wexler of Kings Park, N.Y. was read regarding
the purchase of the property at Duck Point. Letter stated "inasmuch
as it does not appear possible to secure a release of the 20 ft.
right-of-way over the premises to be purchased, the Colissionere
wished to know whether the purchase price might be reduced if they
were willing to take title up to the Southerly line of said, right-
of-way". Reply dated Mar. 9, 1966 from Attorneys Meyer & Wexler
stated clients were unwillin~ to reduce the purchase price due to
the right-of-way". Commissioners decided to d top the matte~
Mr. Grathwohl stated he would advise Attorney Cron of the board's
decision.
Letter dated Mar. 1, 1966 from the Department of the Army
regarding the dredging in Broadwater Cove, Little Peconic Bay
at Town of Southold was read and discussed. Letter stated about
15,000 cubic yards of dredged material will be deposited on the
easterly shore of Broadwater Cove. Dredging progressin~ satis-
factorily.
Treasurer reported a balance onhand of $282.84 in the Special
Fund and $4,334.25 in t~e Regular Fund.
Bill of Van Tuyl & 8on for ~15.00 for 3 prints of map of Park
District was audited and approved for payment.
Applications for lifeguard positions from Dean Blaikie and
Maryann Dooley were read.
Decision was made to purchase 2 more benches for the beach.
Corein Grathwohl will attend to the purchase.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at
11:45 A.M.
