Meeting
A meeting of the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District was
held on the above date at 7 P.M. at the home of Frank B.Rogers.
Cow,missioners Corwin Grathwohl, Robert Rehm and Frawk B.
Rogers were present.
?rogress of the dredging in Broadwaters Creek was discussed.
Cozanissioners Robert Rehm and Frank B.~ogers agreed that when
the west side of the Causeway is completed, they would accept
sand on the east side of the causeway, but no mud.
Chairman Corwin Grathwohl stated he had talked with
Wiekha~ on Jan. 20th. regarding the papers relating to the
acquisition of the Nassau Point Beach property. Mr. Wiokha~
regards the papers as his personal property and will not
them over to the Park District.
A letter dated Jan. 21, 1966 fro~ Mr. Wiekhamwas read.
Mr. Wiekha~ stated" The Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park ~istrict
was fo~aed u~der Chapter 713, Laws of 1958 a~ Chapter 763, Laws
of 1960. The 1960 Act provides that the Town Boar~, after a public
hearing, ~ay authoriae purchase of la~d a~ constructiom of
buildings and facilities. When the Towm Board has determined,
after the hearing, that it is in the public inter, st, it may
then delegate to the commissioners the conduct of all further
proceedings. Under this act, it is not necessary to have any
vote ~ the tax payers. Opposition can only be made at the
public hearings".
Mr. Grathwohl stated he would arrange a meeting with
Lawyer Cron amd Fred Xaelin with the Comtssioners for Saturday
morning, Jan. 23rd. at 10 A.M.
Treasurer Frank Rogers reported that a check for $33~.69
had been received for the fiscal year 1966 from the Supervisor's
office. $2,500. had been retained by the Supervisor for the
~th. year payment on the Bond and $670. for the ~th. year interest
on the Bond.
Treasurer's report showed a balance of $~,33~.25 in the
Regular Account and $2§2.84 in the Special Account.
Robert Rel~a reported that the benches at the Beach had been
knocked over by the stor~ on Jan. 23rd. It was decided to ask
Ja~es Mason to store the benches in the store room or else on
the north side of the building. Frank Rogers agreed to speak to
James Mason regarding the matter.
