2. Final Approval from Health Dept of water supply and sewerage-disposal (S_9 form).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Sworn statement from plumber certifying that the solder used in system contains less than 2/10 of 1% lead.
5. Commercial building, industrial building, multiple residences and similar buildings and installations, a certificate
of Code Compliance from architect or engineer responsible for the building.
6. Submit PI.arming Board Approval of completed site plan requirements.

a. This application MUST be completely filled in by typewriter or in ink and submitted to the Building Inspector with 4
sets of plans, accurate plot plan to scale. Fee according to schedule.
b. Plot plan showing location of lot and of buildings on premises, relationship to adjoining premises or public streets or
areas, and waterways.
c. The work covered by this application may not be commenced before issuance of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application, the Building Inspector will issue a Building Permit to the applicant. Such a permit
shall be kept on the premises available for inspection throughout the work.
e. No building shall be occupied or used in whole or in part for any purpose what so ever until the Building Inspector
issues a Certificate of Occupancy.
f. Every building permit shall expire if the work authorized has not commenced within 12 months after the date of
issuance or has not been completed within 18 months from such date. If no zoning amendments or other regulations affecting the
property have been enacted in the interim, the Building Inspector may authorize, in writing, the extension of the permit for an
addition six months. Thereafter, a new permit shall be required.

Please be advised, however, that no construction, sedimentation, or d~sturbance of any
kind may take place seaward of the tidal and/or freshwater wetlands jurisdictional
boundary or seaward of the coastal erosion hazard area as indicated above, or within
100' landward from the top of the bluff and/or wetlands jurisdictional boundary, without
further authorization from the Southold Town Board of Trustees pursuant to Chapter 275
and/or Chapter 111 of the Town Code. It is your responsibility to ensure that all
necessary best management practices are taken to prevent any sedimentation or other
alteration or disturbance to the ground surface or vegetation within Tidal Wetlands
jurisdiction and Coastal Erosion Hazard Area, which may result from your project.

Supplemental Instruction for IZ3 rated products
)Use these instructions in conjunction with the detailed installation instructions included with each order. This instruction is
a guide for placement and application of brackets and fastening methods for impact rated products. As always, read all in-
structions thoroughly before beginning to install your impact window or door.
Fasteners and Spacing Methods
Casement, Casement Picture, Awning, Double Hung Picture and Outswing Doors:
Requires fastening the window to the rough opening in one of two ways:
1. Installation Cllpa (specialized for each frame) AND Nailing Fin,
Attach brackets to the unit jambs and head jamb with #7 x 5/8" wood screws 6" (152) maximum from each corner and 18"
(457) maximum around the unit perimeter, Attach nailing fin 4' (102) from all corners and a maximum of 7" (178) apart around
the rest of the unit perimeter.
OR
2. Structural Brackets
Attach to the jambs, head jambs and sill (windows only) following the attachment method and spacing specified with the
instructions (enclosed with brackets).

Attach with Structural Brackets only to the jambs, head jambs and sill. Follow the attachment method and spacing with the
instructions (enclosed with brackets). See figure 1.

.Installing the Window or Door
1. Using the screw holes in the clip as a guide, drill through the nailing fin with
a 1/8" drill bit. this will give you the location of the screw holes when you
fasten the unit to the rough opening, see figure 2.
2. All Impact Rated Windows and Doors:
Must be adhered to the sill with a discontinuous 5/16" (8) bead of
construction adhesive on the framing sill where it will contact the window
or door frame sill? See figure 3. Leave approximately 2 (51) gaps on the
ends. See figure 4.
3. Follow the instructions included with each order to properly place, square
and shim the unit in the opening. When using structural brackets, wrap to
the interior framing. Follow the instructions included with the brackets.

4. if you are using Installation Clips in conjunction with nailing fin, fasten the
clips to the rough opening with 1 1/4" drywall screws. See figure 5.
5. Follow all finishing, flashing and sealing steps found In the
Installation Instructions sent with your window or door order.

1 Use APA rated AFG-01 spec, 0920 construction adhesive. Make sure the adhesive is compatible with all building materials and the unit frame.

1,4 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
A. Design and Performance Requirements: 1. Units shall be designed to comply with 101/I.S.2-97 and 101/1.S. 2/NAFS-02 (SGD-R30) rating.
2. Air leakage shall not exceed 0.30 cfm per square foot of overall frame when tested at 1.57 psf according to ASTM
E 283.
3. No water penetration when tested at 4,5 psf according to ASTM E 547.
4. Units shall be designed to comply with ASTM E330 for structural performance when tested at the following
pressures: (+/-45
1.5 SUBMITTALS
A. Shop Drawings: Submit shop drawings under provisions of Section 01 33 23.
B. Product Data: Submit catalog data under provisions of Section 01 33 23.
C. Samples:
1. Submit corner section under provisions of Section 01 33 23.
2. Include glazing system, quality of construction, and specified finish.
D. Quality Control Submittals: Certificates: Submit manufacturer's certifications indicating compliance with specified
performance and design raquirements under provisions of Section 01 33 23.
1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Regulatory Requirements: Emergency Egress or Rescue: Comply with requirements for sleeping units of [IBC
International Building Code] [BOCA Basic Building Code] [Southern Building Code] [Uniform Building Code]
].
1.7 DELIVERY
A. Comply with provisions of Section 01 65 00.
B. Deliver in odginal packaging and protect from weather,
1.8 STORAGE AND HANDLING
A. Prime or seal wood surfaces, including surface to be concealed by wall construction, if more than thirty (30) days will
expire between delivery and installation.
B. Store door panels fiat on a level surface in a clean and dry storage area under provisions of Section 01 66 00, Seal
unfinished top and bottom edges of door panels if stored at the job site more than one (1) week.
C. Condition doors to local average humidity before hanging.
1.9 WARRANTY
A. Doors shall be warranted to be free from defects in manufacturing, materials, and workmanship for a pedod of ten (10)
years from purchase date.
B. Door glass shall be warranted to be free from defects in manufacturing, materials and workmanship for a pedod of
twenty (20) years from purchase date.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.1 MANUFACTURED UNITS
A. Description: Factory assembled Ultrex~ Patio Door, as manufactured by Integrity Windows and Doors, Fargo, North
Dakota or Roanoke, Virginia.

2.2 FRAME DESCRIPTION
Interior: Clear pine exposed surfaces.
1. Kiln dded to a moisture content no greater than twelve (12) pement at the time of fabrication.
2. Water repellent preservative treated in accordance with ANSI / NWWDA I.S.4.
B. Exterior: Fiberglass reinforced (UItrex~) clad 0.080 inch (2 mm) thick.
C. Composite frame thickness: 1-1/16 inches (27 mm).
D. Frame width: 4-9/16 inches (116 mm). Beige fiberglass reinforced plastic (Ultrex~) sill with oak interior sill liner.
2.3 PANEL DESCRIPTION
Intehor: Clear pine.
1. Kiln dried to a moisture content no greater than twelve (12) percent at time of fabhcation. Panel comers feature
half lap joint.
2. Water repellent preservative treated in accordance with ANSI / NWWDA I.S.4.
B. Exterior: Fiberglass reinfomed plastic (UItrex®) clad 0.080 inch (2 mm) thick.
C. Composite panel thickness: 1-3/4 inches (44mm).
D. Rail height dimensions: 2-5/16 inches (59 mm).
2.4 GLAZING
Select quality complying with ASTM C 1036. Shall comply with 16 CFR 1201 Safety Standard for Architectural Glazing
Materials. Insulating glass SIGMNIGCC certified to performance level CBA when tested in accordance with ASTM E
774.
B. Glazing Method: 3/4 inch (19 mm) Tempered Insulating Glass.
C. Glass Type: [Lol? - 272® Argon gas] [Lo~3 - 366® with Argon gas].
D. Glazing Seal: Silicone bedding, interior and exterior.
2.5 FINISH
A. Exterior: Factory baked on acrylic urethane.
1. Color: Stone White; Pebble Grey; Bronze; Evergreen; Cashmere.
B. Interior: Treated bare wood; White interior factory finish.
2.6 HARDWARE
A. Handle set: High pressure zinc die-cast single point non-keyed handle / lock with Almond Frost snNVhite. A Brass
Substrete with a single point non-keyed handle/lock is sued for the products with PVD finished inclucing Satin Nickel;
Oil Rubbed Bronze; and Brass. Interior and Exterior finish will always be the same, color ,must be specified.
B. Rollers: Two adjustable steel roller assemblies per operating panel. Two ball bearing wheels per roller assembly.
Maximum vertical adjustment: 5/16 inch (8 mm).
2.7 WEATHER STRIP
Full perimeter frame weather strip. Operating panel sealed to frame with bulb gasket and leaf weather stdp, bottom of
panel weather stripped with ddp seal and fin seal pile weather strip. Stationary panel sealed to header with flexible leaf
weather strip. Meeting stiles sealed with interlock and fin seal pile weather strip.
2.8 JAMB EXTENSION
A. Furnish jamb extension 6-9/16 (167 mm) factory installed (shipped loose) 5-5/16 (135 mm); 6-13/16 (160 mm) shipped
loose.
B. Finish: Treated bare wood; White intedor factory finish.

2.9 INSECT SCREENS
A. Extruded aluminum sliding frame 0.045 inch (1.1 mm) thick. Top hung miler assembly with stainless steel ball beadngs
in nylon wheels, top rollers adjustable up to 3/8 inch (10 mm). Frame to have edge mounted wool pile bug stdp.
B. Screen mesh: t8 by 16, Charcoal fiberglass,
C. Frame Finish: White; Pebble Gray; Bronze; Evergreen; Cashmere.
D. Flush mounted ddged nylon handle on both sides of screen. Ridged PVC glide.
2.10 REMOVABLE GRILLES
A. 3/4 X 15/32 inch (19 mm X 12 mm) pine. 1. Pattern: Rectangular.
2. Finish: Clear pine; White intedor factory finish.
2.11 GRILLES-BETWEEN-THE-GLASS (GBG)
A. Manufactured from aluminum in an 11/16" (17mm) wide contoured profile placed between the two panes of glass.
Available in rectangular cut, prairie cut 9 lite..

2.12 SIMULATED DIVIDED LITES (SDL)
A. 7/8" (22 mm) wide. No internal spacer bar.

lite. Cottage lite cut with a horizontal daylight opening of 10". Size limitations may apply to prairie lite cut, or

2.13 ACCESSORIES AND TRIM
Installation Accessories:
1. Factory installed nailing fin at head and side jambs.
2. Installation Brackets: 6-3~8 inches (162 mm); 9-3/8 inches (238 mm); 15~318 inches (390 mm).
3. Mullion kit: Mullion kit for field assembly of units. Kit includes: Instructions, aluminum pins, mulling tin, sealant
foam tape, installation brackets, screws, interior mullion trim and nailing fin connectors.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Verification of Conditions: Before Installation, verify openings are plumb, square, and of proper dimension as required
in Section 01 71 00. Report frame defects or unsuitable conditions to the General Contractor before proceeding.
B. AcceptanceofConditions: Beginning of instailation conflrrns acceptance of existing conditions.
3.2 INSTALLATION
A. Comply with Section 01 73 00.
B. Assemble and install doors and frames according to manufacturer's instructions and reviewed shop drawings.
C. Set door sills in full bed of sealant; install backing material and sealant at head jamb and side jambs, and as specified
in Section 07 92 00. Do not use expansive foam sealant.
D. Install frames and stationary panels as required.
E. Install sill support before using door.
F. Install accessory items as required.

G. Use finish nails to apply wood trim and mouldings.
3.3 STARTING AND ADJUSTING
A. Adjust door to work freely with hardware functioning properly. Re-adjust at completion of project if directed.
3.4 CLEANING
A. Remove visible labels and adhesive residue according to manufacturer's instructions.
B. Leave doors and glass in a clean condition. Final cleaning as required in Section 01 74 00.
3.5 PROTECTING INSTALLED CONSTRUCTION
A. Comply with Section 01 76 00.
B. Cover doom and frames during painting or other construction operations that may cause damage.
C. Protect sill from damage by chemicals, solvents, paint, or other construction operations that may cause damage.
