the resident taxpayers of the Mattituck Park District, copy
of which is annexed hereto, in five (5) public places in
Mattituck, County of Suffolk, New York, as follows:

NOTICE OF MEETING AND NOTICE OF REFERENDUM
NOTICE is hereby given, as prescribed by Chapter 924 of the Laws of New York,
1941, as mended, of a special meeting of the resident taxpayers of the Mattituck Park
District to be held on July 20, 2000, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern D.S.T, at the Mattituek Park
District Office, Main Road, Mardtuck, New York 11952, for the purpose of voting on the
following proposition:
Shall the Commissioners appropriate the sum of $325,000.00 for construction of
a building at Veteran's Memorial Park, Peconic Bay Boulevard, Mattituck, New York,
for use as a storage and maintenance building for equipment and two offices, for a
concession stand, and for bathroom facilities (the "Facility"), which Facility will be
substantially in accordance with the site plan p~pared by W~ Sambach dated June 1,
2000, as same may be amended from time to time, which appropriation will include (a)
approximately $45,000.00 now available in the Park District's Operating Fund and (b)
the issuance of $280,000.00 of serial bonds of Southold Town pursuant to the Local
Finance Law to finance thc balance of said appropriation; and shall thc Commissioners
be authorized and empowered to request the Town of Southold to levy a tax therefor
upon the taxable property in said District? The maximum cost, including without
limitation the costs to be incurred for construction of the above Facility, together with
planning costs, permit fees, professional fees, survey fees, financing expenses, site
improvements, and construction costs, and costs of original furnishings, equipment,
machinery and apparatus required for the purposes for which the facility is to be used will
be $325,000.00.
The polls will be open from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Voting will be by paper ballot.
Every taxpayer of the Town of Southold who shall have resided in the Mattituck
Park District for a period of thirty days next preceding this referendum of the Park
District shall be qualified to vote.
FURTHER NOTICE is hereby given that there will be an informational meeting
of the Commissioners of the Mattituek Park District to be held on July 18, 2000 at 7:00
p.m. Eastern D.S.T. at the Mattituck Park District Office, Main Road, Mattituck, New
York, 11952 for the purpose of discussion of the above proposition.
