Dear Councilmen:
I attended the working session of the Town Board held on September 23,
1986, on behalf of my clients, Douglas and Monique Morris, the owners of property
located in Orient Point (Dist. 1000, Sect. 15, Block 9, Lot 3.4 and 3.6). At
that session, the proposed Master Plan was discussed, particularly as it relates
to the division line between the residential and marine business districts in
the area of the Cross Sound ferry terminal.
It was gratifying to see the Board respond to the legitimate concerns
of the local citizenry by rezoning the former Latham parcel (Dist. 1000, Sect. 15,
Block 9, Lot 3.5) back to residential (R-120) from marine business. On behalf
of my clients, I wish to thank you for your responsive and responsible action in
this matter and to urge you to protect this area from further commercial expan-
sion at the expense of the local residents.
