MULLEN, Jr. Southold, N.Y. 11971 TELEPHONE 765-1938 A meeting of the Workshop Group and Raymond, Parish, Pine & Weiner, Inc. was held 2:00 p.m., June 22, 1983 at the Town Hall. Present were: Chairman Henry E. Raynor, Jr. Member William F. Mullen, Jr. Member G. Ritchie Latham, Jr. R~P&W Stuart Turner RPP&W Paula Gilbert RPP&W Debbie Parriot Mattituck COC Peter Kren League of Women Voters Jean Tiedke North Fork Environmental Council Ruth Oliva East End Real Estate Henry W. Drum Cutchogue/New Suffolk COC Richard J. Cron Mr. Raynor opened discussion advising the Workshop Group that the consultant firm had met with the Planning Board June 21, 1983 to discuss the "rough cut" ideas of planning goals from RPP&W. Mr. Turner proceeded to explain the preliminary planning goarls as outlined and displayed to the Planning Board the previous day. These minutes were recorded and are on file in the Planning Board office. The display map was coded as follows: .Agriculture - Green Low Density - Yellow Medium Density - Brown High Density - Dark Brown Commercial (Hamlet Center) - Red Marine Commercial - Maroon Resort Commercial - Orange Light Industry (office) Lavender Public/Semi Public - Blue Transportation/Utilities~ Gray Recreation - Dark Green Open Space - Light Green Alternative Airports - * pg. (2) 6/22/83 The overall retention of agricultural land retained is 10,000 acres. Question was raised regarding problems with the medium density pro- posed near East Marion. The expansion of marine commercial areas was stated as a definite need in the town. It was the concensus of those present that the Mill Creek area would not be practical for residential because of the clay. Extension of Soundview Avenue was discucussed with utilization of clustering on the sound. It was estimated that an airport would require 60-100 acres, 10 of which would be used for the business. Opposition was stated on the pro- posed commercial area in Cutcho~ue. The Group was in agreement for the expansion of Resort Commercial areas. TDR's, farmland preserva- tion and tax abatements were discussed. The Group asked Mr. Turner if the display map could be refined and a smaller reproduction be made for each member of the Group to study.
