HomeMy WebLinkAboutLP-05/25/1994LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES OF MAY 25, 1994 Present were: Jim Rich Joe Gold Michael Croteau Jim Pim Ruth Oliva A regular meeting of the Southold Town Land Preservation Committee was held on Wednesday, May 25, 1994 at 7:30 p.m. at Southold Town Hall. The committee welcomed the new members, Joe Gold and Michael Croteau. The Hanauer/Bagley property (4.94 acres) at the corner of Soundview Avenue and Lighthouse Road, Southold was discussed by the committee. Mr. Bagley had corresponded with the Supervisor offering the sale of the property to the Town. The secretary was asked to send a Land Preservation Program application to Mr. Bagley. The committee discussed the Farmland Preservation Program. A motion was made by Jim Pim, seconded by Joe Gold and passed by the committee recommending that the Town Board have a referendum placed on the November 1994 ballot for a $2,000,000.00 bond for farmland preservation. The secretary was asked to pass that recommendation on to the Town Board. The committee also discussed the 1/4% sales tax and would like to urge the Town to secure its share of this money from the County. -2- With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. espect fully .submit te~d. ~Loy~ce M.
