HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-12/05/2000 Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District was held on December.fi, 2000 at the Park District Office on Main Road, Mattituck, New York with Commissioners Walter Sabat and Chris Talbot present together with Treasurer, John Cushman, and Secretary, Madeline Haas. Absent: Commissioner Gerard Goehringar and Labor Crew Leader Jim Cox. Kathy Wilton, Kim Prokop and Cheryl Siefert were present to up-date the Commissioners on the Playground project at Veterans Memorial Park. Briarcliffis going to donate landscaping of the site which is to be located to the north of the now existing ham. The women reported having received $500.00 from the Lions Club toward the project, They are going to go talk to Mr. McMahon at the Southold Town Office regarding the proposed contribution by the Town. The women also reported starting a "Buy-a-Brick" campaign after the first of the year to put in a brick walkway. The cost of each brick will be $50.00. After a general discussion, the ladies left the meeting. On motion of Chris Talbot, acting Chairman, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. It was recommended by the Trustees to remove the west 30 feet of soil, fill with clean sand and draw up a site plan and go back to the Trusstees on December 20th for another hearing. On motion of Chris Talbot, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED that the following modifications of the 2000 budget be made Take from Debt Principal And add to Site Improvements Insurance Site Maintenance Election 'Fellers $ 4,520.00 $1,000.00 500.00 3,000.00 20.00 $ 4,520.00 Because the Park District is on notice from our insurance company, the following work has to be done: The facade on the northwest comer of the building has to be taken offor fixed because it is breaking loose from the building and causing the window to break. Fred Taylor to be contac~.xl to see if be can fix it. Also someone has to be contacted about the roof which is leaking. Mr. Talbot and Mr. Sabat felt the building should be put up for bid to sell and Commissionem could find a place to hold the Park District meetings - perhaps the Scouters Lodge. 'On motion of Chr/s Talbot, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, the building is to be fixed immediately due to the Notice of the Insurance Company. On motion of Chris Talbot, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, the sale oftbe :Main Road building should be looked into at once.
