Mattituck Park District and the vote for election of a Commissioner to replace Walter
Sabat whose term ends on December 31, 2000, was held on Novmeber 2, 2000, at the
Park District Office on Main Road, Mattituck, with Commissioners Gerard Goehringer
and Chris Talbot present, together with John Cushman, Treasurer, Madeline Haas,
Secretary, and James Cox, Sr., Labor Crew Leader. Absent, Commissioner Walter Sabat.
At 7:00 P.M. Chairman Gerard Geohringer swore in the Inspectors of Election,
Gail Faircloth and Barbara Ooehringer.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Chris Talbot and carried, the
minutes of the October meeting were approved as presented.
On motion of Chris Talbot, seconded by Gerard Goehringer and carried, the
Treasurer's report as presented and the following bills were ordered paid:

Jim Cox reported that the water has been shut down at every site but Aldrich
Lane.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Chris Talbot and carried, the
following budget modification was approved:

Jim Cox was instructed to shut down electricity at all sites except Aldrich Lane.
Lights not to be turned on at the baseball and soccer fields after November i 5, 2000.
Jim Cox reported something wrong with the pump at Aldrich Lane.
Chairman Goehringers reported that North Fork Bank had donated $5,000.00 for
the pla~yground at Veterans Park and $1,000.00 has been donated by Parker and Edith
Wickham and Bridgehampton National Bank has pledged $1,000.00. It was reported that
Southold Town was to donate $22,500.00 under a Community Development Program.
On motion of Gerry Goehringer, seconded by Chris Talbot and carried, the
$500.00 received from Mattituck Lioness' is to be put into the playground fund.
On motion of Gerry Goehringer, seconded by Christ Talbot, the maintenance
employees .are to he cut back by the middle of November, 2000. Fred Rempe is to be left
on because he takes care of the Scouters Lodge.
The Park District received a Appearance Notice from the Town to appear in
Justice Court because of work being done at Wolf Pit Lake without a permit.
Gerry Goehringer reported that Wickham, Wickham & Bmssler are doing a joint
application for the DEC and the Town Trustees.
The Scouters Lodge was discussed and as of January 1, 2001 usage fees would be
as follows: Minimum fiat fee of $55.00 per day or $8.00 per person per day, leaders and
chaperones included.
Chris Talbot reported attending a meeting on or about October 15, 2000, with the
Planning Board of the Town of Southold working on a local waterfront revitalization
program. All the park district commissioners of all east end park districts are to review
and critique and the potential future role of the park districts in providing access to the
waterfront.
Chris Talbot reported that Chris Rivera asked to have the branches and wood at
the end of Miriam Road which is on Park District property removed.
There being no further business to come before the meeting on motion of Chris
Talbot, seconded by Gerry Goehringer and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
