HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-06/01/1995 Minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of C~mm[ssioners of!the Mattituck Park District held at the Park District office on Main Road, Mattituok, New York on Jtme 1, 1995 with all Co~ssioners Adams, Sabat and Goehringer~ Treasurer Cushman and Secretary Haas present. Mr. Markowski and Mr. Hudson entered the meeting as representatives of the Slo Pitch League. They had been asked to be present at this meeting. Mr. Markowski informed the Commissioners that 60% of the ball players are Mattituck-Laurel!residents. He wanted this statement on reoord:.because there is so much feedback that the league has many non-resident people involved. He also said that Peter Victoria had told the girls that they could use the field for softball little league as there was a free night at the field. The Porte-Potties still have not been fixed for use. Mr. Adams told Mr. Markowski that he should go to Mr. Russell Nine and get a new lock and keys for the light box. This should help control the lights being turned on after the ball games are over. The Ccmm~ssioners thanked the men for coming and they then left the meeting. On motion of Gerry Goehringer, seconded by Pete Saber, and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Letter from The Sea Beagles enclosing a $50.00 check in thanks for keeping the beaches clean. Mr. Goehringer said that the Fire Department may be giving us a copy machine for our office. Mr. Cox, the Park custodian, entered the meeting. He was told~to get a light on the flag at the Love Lane site or it must be taken down every night. Commissioners instructed Mr. Cox to erect the Porte- potties where they were originally scheduled to go. That spot does belong to the Park District. Mr. Cox is to move the dumpster at Veterans Park closer to the building and to put a fence around the dumpster. Commissioners authorizedMr. Cox to get 150 feet of rope for the flag pole at Love Lane. Mr. Goehringer contacted Lend Use because of the condition of the Jetties along the Bay. Mr. Bowman was asked if he could get an emergency permit or re-activate our old permit of 88 or 89. He though he cou}~ge% it for the District for a cost of $/~o~A~t~'~~'°~ Mr. Goehringer contacted Steve Pollack about an estimate for the damages to the Jetties at Bay Avenue and the Ball Park. on motion of Gerry Goehringer, seconded by Pete Sabat and carried, Commissioners to go ahead with the re- activation of the old permit. Gail Wickham to be contacted to write a letter for re-activation of the 88 89 permit from DEC for the Jetties.
