Goehringer, seconded by Pete Sabat and carried:
RESOLVED that the sum of $1,200.00 be transferred from
Beach Attendants and $1,200.00 be transferred from
Lifeguards and placed in Site Maintenance/Property Repairs.
Gerry Goehringer is to get estimates from Pawlik, South
Drive, Mattituck, for the bulkheading~t~~W~~,
Ed Adams said that the custodians had cleaned up the
parking lot on Pike Street and were trying to get the cars
moved.
Commissioners are going to get an estimate on having
the railing put back up on the building at the Breakwater
site.
Minutes of previous meeting were accepted as presented.
Mr. Jim McMahon entered the meeting re: Wolf Pit Lake.
He said there were a couple of things possible to help the
situation of no water in the Lake: (1) Dredge it or (2) Put
a pump in to maintain the water level on a year around
basis. There were cat tails, water lillies, and grass
growing heavily all around.
'~ C0~mi$~ioh~rs e~plaine~' that silt from Sidor's farm
continues to run down the road and even if it is dredged,
that will continue to run and clog up the spring. The Soil
Conservation could design something at no cost.
Commissioners have a pump and if Kreiger could do the work
for about $1900.00, that could be used.
Mr. McMahon said a lot of money is coming out of New
York Sate from grants, and possibly he could get a
Restoration Fund started. He said is was there mainly to
get approval of the Commissioners to address the problem and
see how .it could be done without too much expense to the
District.
Mr. Adams mentioned possibly putting a bulkhead all
around the lake and put a pump in to keep water in the lake.
He said the Commissioners were in favor of having something
done at the site but they ha~ to check with the attorneys
whether' or not a fund could be estabIished as we do get our
money from the taxpayers of the District.
Mr. McMahon thanked the Comm[ssioner for their time and
left.
