Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held on June 6,
1996 at the Park District Office on Main Road, Mattituck,
New York, with all Commissioners present ( E. Adams, G.
Goehringer, W. Sabat), J. Cushman, Treasurer, present and
M. Haas, absent.
On motion of Pete Sabat, seconded by Ed Adams, and
carried, the minutes presented for the MaY 2nd meeting were
approved.
No correspondence.
On motion of Pete Sabat, seconded by Gerry Goehringer,
and carried, the following Treasurer's report and bills
presented for payment were approved:

On motion of G. Goehringer, seconded by P. Sabat and
carried, Chris Abbott was hired as a laborer for $5.25 per
hour.
On motion of Ed Adams, seconded by G. Goehringer,
weed wacker is to be purchased for North East Garden
Equipment.

Yacht Club requested the use of the ball park site
onJuly 14, 1996 for a Regatta and ball game. On motion of
G. Goehringer, seconded by E. Adams, and carried, same was
approved.
On June 30, 1996 the American Diabetes Bike-a-thon is
being held and once again would like to use Vet's Park as a
rest stop. Bathrooms are to be opened by 7=00 A.M. On
motion of P. Sabat, seconded by G. Goehringer and carried,
same was approved.
Ed Adams reported that the concession stand lease has
been signed and full bid price paid.
Mr. Jim McMahon, Chris Kelly and Allan Dickerson were
welcomed into the meeting. They attended for discussion on
there concern for Wolf Pit Lake. Mr. McMahon said he is
willing to do research to determine if Federal Funds may be
used for this project. The men asked if the Park District
are interested in Joining with the Town to help maintain
Wolf Pit Lake to dredge and prevent silt from coming into
the Lake. Chris Kelly would agree to take dredge spoils on
his property. Town will prepare plans and obtain permits.
The Park District will obtain a survey.
DEC has advised Ed Adams of two nesting areas at Bailey
Beach. They have been fenced off.
June 27th there is a conflict at Vet's Park with
Tuthill Family and Sons of Norway. Commissioners agree that
both parties will share the facility.
Co-~ssioners want Jim Cox to add extension to fence
along Town line to prevent people from climbing around at
bulkhead and to post a sign at pier to advise no transient
dockage.
Secretary instructed to write a letter to Mattituck
Fire Department requesting the arch at Vet's Park be
inspected, painted and repaired along with the removal of
the lights that have become an eyesore.
On motion of G. Goehringer, seconded by P. Sabat and
carried, one day passes to the beaches are $10.00.
No further business to come before the meeting, on
motion of Ed Adams, seconded by P. Sabat and carried, the
meeting was adjourned at 8:45 P.M.
