HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-08/08/1996 Minutes of the Budget Meeting of the Board of Directors and vote of the taxpayers of the Mattituck Park District held at the Park District office on August 8, 1996 at 7=00 P.M. with all Comm~ssioners, Edward Adams, Gerard Goehringer, Walter Saber; Treasurer, John Cushman; and Secretary, Madeline Haas, present. Edward Adams ordered the polls open at 7=00 P.M. with Bonnie Adams and Judy Thilberg acting as Inspectors of Election. The minutes of the July meeting were approved es presented on motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried. The Treasurerts re~ort was approved and the following bills ordered paid on motion of Walter Saber, seconded by Gerard Goehringer and carried. CORRESPONDENCE: Latter from Supervisor Cochran enclosing a letter sent to the Town of Southold by a William Thode giving many thanks to the shower/toilet facilities at the Love Lane site but also stating dissatisfaction with the sign about when the facility is open and finding it is not. Latter from Joseph Vasile-Cozzo co-signed by Lee S. Ellwood requesting the use of the soccer fields at the Aldrich Lane site for the Mattituck High School soccer teams for ithe 1996 season, and stating that the school custodial staff would take care of lining the fields. On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Saber and carried, permission was granted the soccer teams to rise the Aldrich Lane site for the 1996 season and the custodial staff to line the fields. Secretary was instructed to write to inform the Board of Education of such approval and state also that we need a Certificate Of Insurance from the School before anyone can play soccer at the site. Latter from the Tuthill reunion thanking the District for the u~e of the facility and the help of the staff. Enclosed was a $100 donation. Latter signed by Ralph T~thill, Myra Case and A1 Monsell. Estimate from Kreiger Well about a 5" well, 50 feet deep with a 5" stainless screen and 5" bitless adapter and use our ptuap and installing it at Wolf Pit by the monument, with~in 50 feet of the pole - $1950.00. Electric must be up- dated to 220. on motion made by Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Saber and carried the above is to be done. Mark Sabat to be approached for cost of up-datingthe electric to 220. Letter from Eric Bressler of Wickham, Wickham & Bressler regarding insurance coverage at the dock at Love Lane inlieu of the boat sinking. He advised to take the exclttsio~ clause off the policy. Treasurer said it would be too costly if the company would allow it to be taken off. Mr. Bressler then said a sign should be erected in very plain view of docking area stating that "Docking at your own risk". Commissioners discussed the dry wells at Vet's Park which need to be cleaned. Secretary instructed to write a letter to Mr. Ray Jacobs, Superintendent of Highways of Southold Town asking if he would do the Job with his equipmel~t because the Park District does not have the necessary equipment. He would be compensated. This would not be a gratus job. No further business to come before the meeting, the meeting was adJour~ed on motion of Walter Sahat, seconded by Gerard ~Goehringer and carried. Secretary At 9=00 P.M. the Chairman of the Board, Edward Adams, declared the polls closed. The Inspectors of Election counted the ballots. 13 voters registered, 13 ballots counted. 13 Yes votes. No "No" votes. No Void votes. Budget for 1997 declared passed.
