The Town of Southold Highway Department ran into a snag with the volley
ball court at the Breakwater site. There is a sand dune with grass to the west
of the building. Ed Adams, Jean Cochrane, Supervisor of Southold Town
and Mr. Jacobs, Superintendent of Highways of Southold Town met at the
site and proposed to go to the northwest and avoid the dune.
Gail Wickham, Attorney for the District entered the meeting in regard to the
volleyball lease~ She discussed the lease at great length with the
Commissioners. At~er the discussion she made the following statements:
1. Mike Ryan, who is in charge of the league, is a resident of Mattituck. If
he leaves the league, he must appoint another resident person in charge.
2. Parking: Commissioners said they were going to provide "special use"
stickers to the Volleyball players.
3. Town can put in lights - Commissioners must approve location. Lights
should not be on after 10:00 P.M.
.~. Use of the courts: Courts can be used by residents of the Park District
only when volleyball games and activities are not in progress.
5. Park District should make the league aware of the roles and regulations
of the District.

the section of fence where the trees are must be screwed so it can be
