Park District held on July 2, 1998 at thc Mattituck Park District Office, Main Road,
Mattituck, with all Commissioners, Edward Adams, Chairman; Gerard Goehringer and
Walter Sahat, present, logether with John Cushman, Treasurer; Mad¢line S. Haas,
Secretary, and James Cox, Chief Maintenance Man.
Mr. Witschieben. a resident of Captain Kidd Estates, was also present at the meeting. He
brought in a proposal regarding the DEC and the Park District acquiring a lease for the
Breakwater site for a bird sanctuary. The Commissioners thanked him and said they
would go ahead with this transaction.
On motion of Walter Sabat, seconded by Gerard Goehringer and carried, the minutes of
the June meeting were approved as presented.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carded, the following
Treasurer's report was approved and the listed bills ordered paid.

Correspondence:
Letter from Mattituck Historical Society asking for help with the mow!ng oftbe grass. A
check of $150.00 was enclosed.
North Fork Soccer League sent their check of $506.50 for their share of the fertilizer for
Aldrich Lane soccer field.
Check of $250.00 Jeanne Zahra for easement on Pike Street.
Chairman Adams reporled having met with Gall Wickham about the lease with the
school district regarding the Aldrich Lane property. It is in the works.
Letter from Thomas and Madeline Sidlak in reference to the dirty beach at the Bailey
Beach site. Mr. Goehringer said he has been in touch with Doug Cooper to go down and
clean the beach up. Jim Cox to put up sign stating that the beach is closed. No life guard
on duty:
Chairman Adams reported that lightening did damage to the pump and clock at the
Aldrich Lane site. Mr. Cheshire took care of it. Bills are to be presented to Roy Reeve.
The totaled approximately $2,700.00. Commissioners agregs to have a special ground
put on the pump at Aldrich lane.
It was reported that a new pportable phone has been puohaed and going to the life guard
at the Breakwater site. At the end of the summer, it is to be returned to the Park
Commissioners.
Gaff Faircloth is to be told to keep track of bet mileage for the summer and be paid in full
for same at the end of ibc summer.
Ronnie Cidone called. She is one of the people taking care ofGladys Nine's house. It is
for sale and she wanted to know if the Park District would be interested in buying it. The
Commissioners did not think so.
Sea Spray wants to be sure that only an authorized person of the Park District calls him
for work to be done.
Jim Cox is to get Ken Schuman to re-charge the air conditioner in the Park District
Office.
The annual budget vote meeting will be held on August 13, 1998 from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00
P.M. Bonnie Adams and Judy Thilberg have been names inspectors of election.
No further business to come before the meeting, on motion of Walter Sabat, seconded by
Gerard Goehringer, and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
