Park Dislxict held at the Park District Office, Main Road, Mattituck, New York, on April 1, 1999
with all Commissioners, Edward Adams, Gerard Gochringer and Walter Sabat, together with
Treasurer, John Cushman, and Labor Leader, Jim Cox, Sr. present. Secretary, Madeline Haas,
was absent.
Chairman Adams called the meeting to order.
On motion of Walter Sabat, seconded by Gerard Goehringer, and camed, the minutes of
the March meeting were approved as presented.
On motion of Edward Adams, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, the Treasurer's
report was approved as follows together with the payment of the following bills:

Correspondence:
Letter from North Fork Beach Volleyball requesting use of the Breakwater Beach from
May 26, 1999 to August 22, 1999. On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat,
and carried, request was approved for the use of the Breakwater Beach by the North Fork Beach
Volleyball.
Letter from American Diabetes Association asking for permission to use the area outside
of Veterans' Park on June 27, 1999 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a water stop for the 8t~
Annual Tour de Cure. Because the cyclists have a staggered start, there should be no more than
15 to 20 people at the site at one time. On motion of Edward Adams, seconded by Water Sabat
and carried, request was approved for the American Diabetes Association to use the area outside
of Veterans' Park for a water stop for the 8t~ Annual Tour de Cure on June 27, 1999.
Old Business:
George Soloman of Mattituck Chamber of Commerce attended the meeting to discuss the
outside basketball court. Commissioners all agree to go with the project with the site to be
looked at and decided on. Treasurer Cushman and Treasurer Soloman will handle all funds.
A gate is to be installed at the rear of the Office property on Main Road, Mattituck.
Attorney Gall Wickham has spoken with the landlord of the adjoining property who put the
fence up.
On motion of Edward Adams, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried 12 foot aluminum
benches are to be purchased for the Little League field at Bay Avenue, Mattituck.
Commissioners requested Jim Cox to turn the water pump on at the Wolf Pit Lake site.
Commissioners requested a letter be written to Young & Young, 400 Osmmder Avenue,
Riverhead, NY 11901, to accept Scope of Work and Fees of Task I set forth in letter from Young
& Young dated January 19, 1999, for work to be done at Wolf Pit Lake site for a fee of
$2,500.00.
A discussion by the Commissioners was had on the construction of the new building at
Veterans Memorial Park. On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and
camed, the Commissioners agreed to go to referendum on the construction.
New Business:
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Edward Adams and carried, the District is
to purchase a 14 H.P. Bush CuRer BCS with mower not to go over $3,740.00 from Northeastern
Equipment Company in Mattituck.
Park District to get Warren Sambach to draw up plans for outdoor basketball court and
get the permits needed. Location to be determined.
Secretary to write letter to Barbara Droskoski to attend the May 6, 1999 meeting.
No further business to come before the mectiog. On motion of Walter Sabat, seconded by
Gerard Goehringer and carried, the meetintg was adjourned.

The Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District adoPted the following resolution at its
April 1, 1999 meeting:
To hold a referendum meeting on the construction of a building to be constructed at Veterans'
Memorial Park, 60' x 80' enclosed building with a 20' porch open on three ((3) sides.
Cost not to go over $230,000.00 plus interest over 10 years ~ Bonding.
