District held on July 1, 1999 at the Park District office at Main Road, Matfituck, New
York, with Chairman Edward Adams, Walter Sabat (Commissioners) John Cushman,
Treasurer, and Madeline Haas, Secretary all present. Absent: Gerard Goehringer.
On motion of Walter Sabat, seconded by Edward Adams and carried, the minutes
of the May meeting were approved as presented.

Mr. Cox, Maintenance Supervisor entered the meeting.
Correspondence: Letter received from Diane Gilbert regarding selling ice cream at the
Park sites. Commissioners were not interested at this time.
Letter from Sawits & Nashak, attorneys for Mr. Mogul who had fallen off his
bicycle at Veterans' Park, saying that the Park's insurance carrier, Commercial Union
Insurance Company had settled within the insurance policy coverage limits. Therefore,
the case has come to an end.
Old Business:
On motion of Walter Sabat, seconded by Edward Adams and carded, the
Mattituck Home Bureau will meet on a monthly basis in the Park District's building on
Nothing new to report on the sale of property to Dr. Mercier.
Chairman Adams reported that he and Mr. Sabat met with Mr. john Sidor
regarding the two.parcels he has had surveyed and is contemplating selling them. The
Park Commissioners, looking to the future for recreational sites, would be interested in
purchasing the lot on Route 48, Mattituck. Once Mr. Sidor conferences with his
attorneys and if he decides to sell, he would be interested in selling the parcel to the
Mattituck Park District. Nothing can be done until Mr. Sidor contacts the
Commissioners.
Mr. George Solomon, Mr. Bill Bladykas, Mr. Dan Ross and Mr. Eric Kruk, all
members of the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce entered the meeting and had a lengthy
discussion on the outdoor plans for a basketball court in the area. Nothing concrete was
decided or accomplished but both the Commissioners and the Chamber members laid the
cards on the table and each side was willing to help in anyway possible for a site for such
basketball court.
Chairman Adams reported that Tim Thiiberg had resigned as laborer. Secretary
instructed to place an ad in both Suffolk Times and Traveler Watchman for one week for
a part time laborer for the Park District at a starting wage of $5.75 per hour.
Mr. Cox was asked about the ropes at the Sound. He said everything is there and
waiting for Mr. 6oehringer.
Chairman Adams reported having the police at Veterans' Park twice during the
month for malicious mischief.
Brewers Yacht Yard cancelled the use of Veterans' Park for the start of a kayak
Fa~e.
Mr. Adams to check with attorneys regarding what procedures had to be followed
should the purchase of the Sidor lot come to fruition.
Commissioners and Treasurer Cushman worked on figures for the budget for the
year 2000. The vote on the budget will be held on August 5, 1999 from 7:00 P.M. to
9:00 P.M. at the Park District office. Inspectors of Election will be Judy Thilberg and
Bonnie Adams.

No further business to come before the meeting on motion of Waier Sabat,
seconded by Edward Adams and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
