HomeMy WebLinkAboutLP-11/22/1994LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 22, 1994 Present were: Joe Gold Tom Madigan Jim Rich John Simicich Michael Croteau Supervisor Wickham Ruth Oliva A regular meeting of the Southold Town Land Preservation Committee was held on Tuesday, November 22, 1994 at 7:30 p.m. at Southold Town Hall. Joe Gold gave the election results on the Farmland bond - 3789 in favor (67%) and 1850 against (32%). Supervisor Wickham said he was pleased with the passage of the Farmland Preservation Bond and that the committee has its work cut out. Joe said that the committee needs guidelines. Supervisor Wickham reiterated that there must be a plan. The committee hopes to get some help from the Planning Board. Regarding the Bagley/Hanauer property, John Simicich made a motion that Joe Gold make the offer to Mr. Bagley for $225,000.00 for the two properties, as per the appraisals. This motion was seconded by Jim Rich. All were in favor. The committee then discussed the application of Thornton Smith. His property is located on Bergen Avenue in Mattituck. Joe will take a look at this piece of property and report back to the committee. -2- The application of Anna Fiore was reviewed by the committee. property does not appear to be in current use for agricultural production and therefore does not qualify for the purchase of development rights. Joe will send Ms. Fiore a letter. This Joe will contact Tim Caufield of the Peconic Land Trust and ask him to come to our next meeting.
