HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-09/16/2010 MATTITUCK PARK DISTRICT SPECIAL BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING SEPTEMBER 16, 2010 Attendance Doris McGreevy, Chairperson Nicholas Deegan, Commissioner Chades Zaloom, Commissioner Eileen Powers, Legal Counsel Beverly Vlcek, Secretary Call to Order Chairman McGreevy called the meeting to order at 5:43 p.m. BUSINESS Renovation of Veterans Memorial Park Building - Resolution 2010-39 Awarding the Bid and Authorizing Contract for the Renovation of the Veterans Memorial Park Building Resolution 2010-39 was at this time read into the record by B. Vlcek The bids submitted on September 9, 2010 were reviewed and certified by the Park District's Legal Counsel, Eileen Powers, and the bid was awarded to the lowest, responsible bidder, Aleet Enterprises, in the amount of $38,650.00. Mot/on by D. McGreevy, seconded by C. Zalcom, all in favor and motion carded to enact Resolution 2010-39 Awarding the Bid and Authorizing Contract for the Renovation of the Veterans Memorial Park Building. Gerald Lang on behalf of Aleet Enterprises was present. October 11, 2010 was set as a start date and October 29, 2010 as the fully performed date. Ballfied at MYC property expenditure - Resolution 2010-40 Authorizing Board of Commissioners to Expend up to $3,000 for Base Path Clay at MYC Property Motion by N. Deegan, seconded by C. Zaloom, all in favor and motion carried to enact Resolution 2010.40 Authorizing the Board of Commissioners to Expend up to $3,000 for Base Path Clay at the MYC Property. There being no further business to come before the meeting, motion by D. McGreevy, seconded by C. Zaloom, all in favor and motion carried to adjourn the meeting at 6:00 p.m. RECEIVED OCT 15 2010 Beverly Vlcak, Selcretary Mattituck P~ark~trDi trict RESOLUTION 2010-39 RESOLUTION AWARDING THE BID AND AUTHORIZING CONTRACT FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK BUILDING WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park Distdct has determined that the firm of Aleet Enterprises submitted the lowest, responsible bid in the amount of $ 38,650.00; NOW THEN BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners hereby awards the bid in the amount of $38,650.00 to Aleet Enterprises, and authorizes the Board Chairman, Doris McGreevy, to execute a contract between the Mattituck Park District and Aleet Enterprises for the renovation of the Veterans Memorial Park Building upon approval of the Park District's attorney; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such contract is to be signed and accepted by Gerald Lang on behalf of Aleet Enterprises. Ref. September 16, 2010 RESOLUTION 2010-40 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS TO EXPEND UP TO $3,000.00 FOR BASE PATH CLAY AT MYC PROPERTY WHEREAS, the baseball field at the MYC Property is in need of refurbishment in order for it to become a productive, updated facility for use by various baseball teams, including the Mattituck Mets; now then BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District is hereby authorized to expend up to $3,000.00 for the purchase of clay to be used in the construction of new base paths.
