The final approved budget will not be available until after the "Public Budget Hearing" on October 20, 2009. I have also attached a copy of the "Notice of Public Budget Hearing" please post it on Southold Town's Bulletin Board no later than October 1, 2008 and if possible the Southold Town website. Harrison, Secretary Barbara Dickers, on, Treasurer Legal Notice of Mattituck Fire District Public Hearing on the Budget NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Proposed Budget of the Mattituck Fire District of the Town of Southold, State of New York, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Mattituck Fire District, for its consideration. A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Mattituck Fire House, 1000 Pike Street, Mattituck, NY 1 I952, in the Town of Southold, State of New York on the 20th day of October, 2009. Pursuant to Town Law §181 [3] la], the Board of Fire Commissioners must hold a public hearing on the budget, make the proposed budget available to the public prior to the public hearing, allow the public to comment on the budget at the public hearing. This public hearing must be held to allow maximum public padicipation in the hearing. The purpose of the public hearing is to allow any person to be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget as it is submitted, or for or against any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same. That a copy of the proposed budget is available at the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold at 53095 Main Road, Southold, NY 11971 and Fire District Secretary at 1000 Pike Street, Mattituck, NY 11952 where it may be inspected by any interested person during office hours 9 A.M - 3 P.M., Monday to Friday.
