Hr. Albert W. Richmond
Clerk, Toum Board of Southold
$outhold
Long Island
New York
Dear Hr. Richmond:
I ~rlsh to acknowledge with appreciation the resolution of the
Town Board of Southold in regard to the Coast Guard's original
plan to reduce personnel at the Coast Guard Moorings in New
London and at the Life Boat Station on Fishers Island.
I feel confident the Board is aware that the Commandant of
the Coast Guard has revised plans and rather than cut person-
nel has announced that there ~ll be an increase, both in
personnel and equipment.
This was good news to me, and I am sure it was to the citizens
of the Town of Southold.
Cordially,
OTIS G. PIKE
