NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing
will be held at the regular meeting of the Town Board of
the Town of Southhold, Suffolk County, New York, at
n the third Friday of J~B,e~ ~
o c~ock , M., on the matter
of granting to The Fishers Island Electric Corporation
(hereinafter called the Company) its successors and assigns,
the right and privilege to lay, erect, eon~truct, maintain
and repair suitable wires and o~her conductors, together with
the necessary poles, pipes, conduits, and other fixtures in,
on, over, and under the streets, avenues, public parks and
places in said Town of Southhold within its present or future
limits on Fishers Island, in the County of Suffolk, State of
New York, for the purpose of transmitting and dietributing
electricity to the inhabitants of said Town and any firm, part-
nership, corporation, governmental or municipal agency therein,
for light, heat and/or power, and for lighting the streets, high-
ways., parks and public places of said Town and the public and
private buildings therein; and that at all times after the
acquiring, placing, and erect~ of any such wires, conductors,
poles, pipes, conduits or other fixtures, said Company shall be
permitted to examine the same and to keep the same in proper
condition and repair and to do all necessary work properly
to maintain the same.
This grant and privilege is to be made upon the
following terms:
1. That said poles, pipes, conduits, or other fix-
tufas, shall be located under the direction of said Town Board
or its duly authorized agent.
2. That all of said poles, pipes, conduits, or'other
fixtures, shall be placed, erected, and maintained in a pro-
per and workmanlike manner so that the same shall in no way
endanger the public, and the said Company shall at all times
indemnify and save harmless the said Town and the members of
said Town Board from and against any and all actions, suits,
damages,~,costs, charges and expenses by reason of the location
and maintenance of said poles, pipes, conduits, and other fix.

or by reason of any act done, or omitted to be done, in the
premises By said Company.
3. Whenever said Company shall have occasion to make
an opening in the surface of any street or other public place
for the purpose of laying or repairing any such poles, pipes,
conduits, or other fixtures, it will first procure any p~rmits
necessary un~er the law or ordinances of sai~ ~wn; will
conduct such work in a careful an~ workmanlike manner;
cause as little ~iaturbance of traffic as reasonably possible,
an~ will restore the surface of such street or other public
place as nearly as potsible to its former cen~ition~ includ-
ing restoration of pavements where it has been necessary to
~isturb same.
A. That permission be secure~ from such public
officers an~ commissions as ia re~uire~ by law.
