Box 1179 Southold, New York 11971-095~ Fax (631) 765-3136 Telephone (631) 765-1938 As per discussions with Ben Orlowski, it has been determined that staff time to write this proposed ordinance cannot be spared due to other pending deadlines on LWRP- and transportation-related projects. As a result, I was authorized to begin preliminary discussions with Timothy Hopkins of the Suffolk County Water Authority and with Charles Voorhis of Nelson, Pope & Voorhis, LLC, to determine the cost of obtaining outside assistance to draft this ordinance. VVhile I have not managed to contact Mr. Hopkins, yet, it is anticipated that he will most likely be providing assistance in accordance with the SCWA's original grant of money and in-kind services on the water supply management and watershed protection project. Mr. Voorhis, our last consultant on this project, has prepared a Proposal for Services, a copy of which is attached. Please place this item on the Town Board work session of August 29th to discuss the attached proposal from Mr. Voorhis and to discuss the time-frame within which this draft ordinance is to be prepared. If Mr. Orlowski's presence will be required, please contact Carol to set aside a time when he would be able to attend the work session.
