Sarah
Cushman, Director of Youth Education, provided overview of their programs. Overwhelming
consensus that programs are an excellent vehicle for Youth Bureau to launch anti-bias
initiatives in schools. They offer training for middle schools in Suffolk County (Hauppauge).
Preliminary plan is to engage services of Ms. Cushman and colleagues to include one
training for four hours that will include 10 to 15 individuals per school district (students,
teachers and administrators) who will then implement the program at their respective
schools. Details to be developed at the July meeting.
