2010 SUMMARY REPORT-SPECIAL PROJECTS COORDINATOR
Housing:
??
Met with Town Board to discuss setting maximum sales price and rental costs
for 2010 affordable housing initiatives.
??
Housing Advisory (HAC) Commission sponsored presentation by the Rauch
Foundation on the Long Island Index. Attendance 21.
??
Attended public hearing for accessory apartment legislation.
??
Forwarded “annual compliance” letter to residents of the Cottages at
Mattituck.
??
Through assistance of Sandi Berliner, sent letter to all applicants on the
Town’s Housing Registry requesting completion of new housing application to
update the Town’s records.
Youth:
??
Facilitated Youth Bureau (YB) board meeting along with dissemination of
minutes.
??
Facilitated Youth Advisory Council (YAC) meeting along with dissemination of
minutes that included pizza party to recognize graduating seniors.
??
Continued coordination and interview of students to facilitate high school
employment opportunities. Informed by Suffolk County Department of Labor
that funding did not exist this year for students with special needs.
Loss Control Program and Executive Safety Committee:
??
With Wright Risk Mgt. and Jen Andaloro developed outline of policies and
procedures to ensure PESH compliance.
Workplace Violence Prevention:
??
Developed 2010 training module for training with Wright Risk Management.
??
Through Sandi Berliner, noticed Department Heads and their staff of
upcoming training opportunities.
??
Provided four training sessions at multiple municipal sites.
Comprehensive Plan:
??
In addition to attending Comp. Plan team meeting, met with the consultants,
Nelson Pope Vorhees to discuss the economic chapter. Also attended the
Anti-Bias Taskforce, the Health and Elderly Services committee meeting as
well as the Board of Trustees.
??
With Heather Lanza, attended the June East Marion Community Association
to discuss the development, content and process of the Comp. Plan.
Other:
??
With Supervisor attended Suffolk County Department of Labor’s “One Stop
Shop” highlighting their efforts to assist county residents seeking
employment. Discussed possibility of developing a pilot program in Southold
for local residents.
??
Coordinating Southold hamlet community meeting for Town Board.
??
On behalf of Supervisor, met with second grade students of Southold
Elementary school.
??
With Supervisor attended East End Supervisors and Village Mayors
Association meeting.
??
Met with Town Board to discuss development of personnel committee.
