voters of Southold Fire Dletrict, July 22, 1949
A special meeting of the qualified voters of Southold
Fire District was called to order by H. T. Richmond. Russel
L. Davison was duly elected Chairman of the meeting. John
Berry and W~lbur Petty were sworn in as tellers by Mr.
Davison. The purpose of this meeting was to voite on the
Proposed B~dget for 1950 as follows,

Also on the following proposition, shall the resolution
~ntitled "A resolution authorizing the expenditure of
$6,000.00 from the Southold Pire District Capital Reserve.
Fund , to-gerber with the sum of $3,000.00 as provided in
the ~950 budget for Capital Reserve Fund money for pur~has-
~In~ fire fighting apparatus consistin~ of a Hook and Ladder
~uok and necessary equipment,, adopted on July 5, be approved
The polls were ~pen f~om 7 to 10 P. M. at which time the
l~lls were declared closed, after counting the ballots the
b t~ellers reported as f~llow~ l'o~ approval of the budget
9.2 yes.' 2 no. Pot the proposition to purchase a new Hook and
Ladder Truck ~. $9,000.00 from the Capital Reserve Fund~,
19 yes : 5 no, one blank.
Minutes were read and approved'. Motion to adjoin.

Minutes of Special Meeting of Southold Fire District hel~ at
the Fire House on March 15, 1949
The speoi~al meeting of the Qualified voters of Southo~
Fire District was e~lled to order by Jo~n Kaolin. R. L. Davison
was appointed Chairman of this meeting. W~l~ur Petty and John
Berr~ were sworn ~n by Mr. D~vison ~s tellers. The following
two Resolutions on which the meeting was to vote were rea~ to
those present,
Resolutfon No. 1
Shall the resolution entitled" A resolution authorizing
the expenditure of $6~000. from the So~thold Fire District
Cap~tol Reserve Fund, for part of the purchase money for
a Hook and Ladder Utility Truck wfth Booster and neoes~ry
equipment adopted on the first day of March 1949, be
approved.
Resolution No. 2
Shall the resoluilon entitled "A resolution authorizing
the issuance of Sg,o00.O0 Fire District SePal Bond~
the Southold Fire District for ~urchaslng a Hook
Ladder Utility Truck with Booster Tank and necessary
equloment, adopted on the 21st day of February, 1949.
be approve~.
Also the cualifications of those entitled to vote was explained,
then the polls were declared open, the two resolutions were then
balloted upon. The 9Dlls were open until 10 P. M. at which time
the polls were declard close~ and the tellers preceded to count
the votes. The~ reported 80 b allots cast,, for resolution No.
1, 36 yes~ 43 n~, and one blank. For resolution N~. 2 , yes
no 43, and 2 blank. Ckeirman Devison declared the two
r~solutiem~ defeated. Minutes were re~d and approved.
