On going trail maintenance on Laurel Lake, Downs Farm, Arshamomaque, Arshamomaque Pond, Dam Pond and Mill Road Preserves. ?? The demolition and removal of the house, pool/pool house and bulkhead at the Bittner Preserve had been completed and the site had been re-graded. ?? Attended a meeting with Village of Greenport Trustees at the Southold Scavenger Waste Plant in reference to the proposed demolition of the facility. ?? Attended a meeting of the Southold Town Risk Management Committee and Workplace Violence Committee. ?? Attended a meeting with the insurance adjuster in reference to the water damage at the Southold Police Department. Preparing loss estimates in reference to water damage at the Police Department. ?? Received a NYSDEC Permit to repair a culvert pipe on Sound View Road, Peconic. The Highway Department is proposing to schedule th the replacement of the pipe the week of June 14. ?? Working on the “Punch List” at the Animal Shelter, with Jamie Richter and contractors. ?? Jeff Standish attended a meeting at Assemblyman Marc Alessi’s Office in reference to a Deer Management Program. ?? Preparing the contracts for the Police Impound Fence Project. ?? Maintenance Mechanic Mike Eckhardt assisted the cub scouts in the installation of the tubes for there Fishing Line Disposal Project. ?? Attended a meeting with Jamie Richter and John Sepenoski in reference to the MS 4 Program. ?? Finished the installation of the electric at Strawberry Fields Fairgrounds for the irrigation system. ?? Installed awnings at the HRC and Katinka House. ?? Grounds keeping at Cochran Park for the “Relay for Life” event. ?? Grounds keeping at the Greenport Information Center for “Season” opening. ?? Worked with the carpet installer in the installation of new carpet in the Justice Court Offices. ?? Reinstalled a wooden ramp at the end of Bay Avenue, East Marion that was damaged during the winter. ?? Ordered materials for the construction of a wooden walkway at Arshamomaque Preserve, as part of the “Bay to Sound” trail project. ?? Installed American flags along Route 25 in Southold and Mattituck for Memorial Day. The flag brackets that were install in Mattituck were not able to hold up to strong winds and most of the flags were removed. The Chamber of Commerce is ordering new brackets.
