the Greenport branch. Neb reports that Supervisor Russell was attending a press
conference this morning sponsored by Legislator Ed Romaine in Riverhead in protest of
this proposed plan.

EETC Update
The next meeting for the council is on February 10 where the MTA news of service
cuts will be discussed and what it means for the council.
Supervisor's Requests
"No Passing on Right" Signage- After a brief discussion it was determined
that this signage would mostly affect State and County roadways and that it
would be forwarded to the NYS DOT for review.
Sigsbee Road 'No Parking'- After a brief discussion, it was determined that
this area of roadway had been addressed properly when the CVS store plans
were approved and that the roadway was made wider during this process for
traffic to pass with cars parked along the west side of the road safely.
Reconstruction of County Rt. 48, Greenport - Neb reports that the $70,000
appropriation for this project was approved by the Public Works and
Transportation Committee of the Legislature.
Planning Board Requests
Valero Service Station, Cutchogue- Heather reports that the Suffolk County Planning
Board turned down the proposal of the station's convenience store request. Heather
reports that legislation ha.q changed for convenience stores since this time and the new
law restricts the size of the store that they may use. There was a lengthy discussion of the
site plan for this project and the addition of the second gas aisle to the west of the
building, the east entrance off of State Rt. 25 and the fill covers height over the
underground gasoline tanks. The Commission suggested that the proposed additional
aisle for the site would be acceptable if the plans show there is enough turning radius for
vehicles leaving the pumps for the exit.
Rt. 25, Matfituck Study - Heather reports that data is still being submitted on this
project.
Current Transportation Issues- Updates:
Because of the commitments of certain Commission members that required leaving
early, the only topic discussed was the Orientation/Interpretive Signage Project. Neb
reported that the project was being moved fxom one office to another within the NYS
DOT and there has been some delay. Neb reports that he will ask the DOT to expedite
this project. Correction reports fxom certain Hamlets are still not complete for this
project.
Old Business and New Business
None to report.
