Review of Previous Minutes Minutes from 2/24 meeting were reviewed and accepted.
Jacqueline Martinez:
Southold Town Senior 3/26 Virginia Walsh from REAP presented to the Juliet will e-mail members to confirm
Services Report seniors, 4/8 AHRC Westhampton Choir, 4/9 LIGEC presentation, 4/30 participation.
Day of Beauty, 5/7 Senior Prom. May is Older American’s Month as in
previous years the center will be hosting a health fair. This year’s theme
is Age Strong, Live Long, the date for the fair is 5/26/10.
Phyllis Markopoulos
: Working collaboratively with Senior Options
and Solutions to identify potential mental health issues and refer for
assessment.
Lynne Richards
: Bowling tournament 4/11.
Jean DeLorme
: Currently 14 F/T participants. Looking forward to the
opening of the medical model program at San Simeon as this will be a
natural transition for participants who require a higher level of
programming.
Mental Health Integration Next Wellness series 4/2, The Power of Positive Thinking. Updated the
Grant group on the status of the telepsych programs.
Senior Options and Solutions
Jay Slotkin, MD:
Agency Reports Director of Nursing atSan Simeon will be leaving,
recruiting for replacement. Census is currently full He is still working
on his transition to a medical home. The Camden Group has been hired
by the Alliance do develop a physician practice.
Daphne Shuttleworth
: the Town of Riverhead will be posting movies
of local businesses on their website. A newly developed sheet of
available services was distributed to group.

Bruce Petrucci
: Additional sites for RSVP have been identified,
recruiting volunteers. Discussed the potential use of SKYPE technology
for friendly visiting. They currently distribute refurbished computers
and could train seniors on the use of the technology.
Louise Blackburn
: Medical Model is set to open in May. A potluck
open house will take place on 4/7. The program will have 30 slots and
they are currently taking applications. Discussed reimbursement via
Medicaid long-term care.
Wayne Miller and Barry Goodman
: 4/11 Dialysis fundraiser at the
Airport Playhouse. Have provided free CPR training to over 1000
people.
Linda Hayden
: Looking to expand services to the east end. Provides
emergency, non-emergency and transport to dialysis.
Robin Imandt
: Will be surveying lesbian residents of Riverhead and
Southold Town on needs for aging in place. Have completed focus
groups and hope to reach as many residents of the lesbian community as
possible.
Holly Rhodes Teague
: SCOFA will be managing a new grant for
Chronic Disease Management. SAGE (Senior Advocacy for Gay
Seniors) Long Island looking to expand services East. Carefully
watching the State budget for impact on services.
Roundtable Discussion Our next scheduled meeting will be 4/28/10 at 1:30pm at San
Simeon Medical Model Day Care Program so the group can see the
new facility!
