On going trail maintenance on Laurel Lake, Downs Farm, Arshamomaque, Arshamomaque Pond, Dam Pond and Mill Road Preserves. ?? Installed a vehicle vacuum unit at the Police Department to clean the interior of cars/trucks. ?? Pumping water and clean up at the Southold Police Department as a result of the basement being flooded. DPW staff was pumping 24/7 from 3/30 to 4/4/2010. ?? Installed RPZ units at the Highway Department and the Recreation Center, as per the SC Health Department. ?? Monitoring work at the Bittner Preserve. Sand has eroded from the area in back of the old bulkhead and moved into the littoral zone. ?? Clean up after the March 13th storm at beaches, parks, road ends and boat ramps. ?? Working on the restoration of Bay Avenue, East Marion that was th damaged in the March 13 storm. (Boardwalk was torn free and later recovered by the Bay Constables several hundred yards down the beach. Some of the rip rap at the road end was washed away). ?? Goldsmith Inlet had significant erosion along the area adjoining the parking lot. ?? Working on the proposed demolition of the Southold Scavenger Waste Plant. ?? Set up for the US Census at Downs Farm and the Annex ?? Attended a meeting of the Southold Town Recreation Committee. ?? Attended a meeting in reference to the MS4 Stormwater Program. ?? Meetings with Jamie Richter in reference to preparing applications for permits for several proposed projects. ?? At McCabe’s Beach the beach grass planting by the Kenny’s & McCabe’s Beach Association has been completed on dunes created by DPW. ?? Installed steps at Horton’s Point that were damaged by the 3/13/10 storm. ?? Submitted a DPW “Stewardship Work Plan for 2010”. ?? Working on the “Punch List” at the Animal Shelter, with Jamie Richter and contractors.
