As per our convemntion+ the sloped ceiling has 2 x 10 roof rafters, and therefore is unable to accommodate an R38, as R38 is a 12" thick insulation~ however, a 2 x 10 only has a 9 ~A" space. Even if you wanted to squeeze an R38 into that space, there would be no ventilation, Natu~ly ther~ would be no room for n baffle (proper vent) to create that needed ventilation, not to mention thc undue stress that you would be putting on your shcetrock.
