Located: 1240 Love Lane, Mattituck. SCTM#140-1-23.1 The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed action is CONSISTENT with the denoted following Policy Standards and therefore is CONSISTENT with the LWRP. Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action. Install seven 2-pile mooring dolphins DEVELOPED POliCy I COAST POI_TCIES Foster a pattern of development in the Town of Southold that enhances community character, preserves open space, makes efficient uso of infrastructure, makes beneficial uso of a coastal location, and minimizes adverse effects of development. Our proposal is consistent with this policy in that this is a commercial waterfront piece of property where the previous owners ran an oyster company from. The current owners anticipate continuing this type of activity at this IocaMon. PoliCy 2 Preserve historic resources of the Town of Southold. Our project will continue to promote the maritime activities historically found in Southold Town. Policy 3 Enhance visual quality and protect scenic resources throughout the Town of Southold. The present proposal is reducing the overall length of the dock structure although widening it so that the dock can be more functional. The visual quality will remain basically untouched by this proposal. NATURAL COAST POI_TCZES Policy 4 Hinimize loss of lifo, structures, and natural resources from flooding and erosion. Our project will not have any effect on the loss of life, structures and natural resources from flooding and erosion. Policy 5 Protect and improve water quality and supply in the Town of Southold. This proposal will have no effects on the water quality or supply in the Town of Southold. Policy 6 Protect and restore the quality and function of the Town of Southold's ecosystem. Our proposed will have no effect on the physical or functional loss of ecological components. Our proposal will allow for the exisUng site to function minimally to sustain a commercial shellfish business. Policy 7 Protect and improve air quality in the Town of Southold. This proposal will have no effects on the air quality or supply in the Town of Southold. Policy 8 Iqinimize environmental degradation in the Town of Southold from solid waste and hazardous substances and wastes. Our proposal will not degrade the Town of Southold with solid waster or hazardous substances and wastes. Our proposal will not produce any solid waste and hazardous substances will not be involved in this project. pUBLTC COAST POL/CZES Policy 9 Provide for public access to, and recreational uso of, coastal waters, public lands, and public resources of the Town of Southold. There is an existing dock at this location that is being reduced. There will be no negative effects on public access and recreational use due to our proposal. Page 26f 2 LI Sound Oyster, LLC WORKING COAST POL%C%ES Policy 10 Protect the Town of Southold's water-dependent uses and promote siting of new water- dependent uses in suitable locations. Our proposal is water-dependent, The dock is used to harvest oysters which can only be done in a location similar to this project location, lit is necessary to have waterfront property to sustain the aquaculture activities operating at this site. Policy 11 Promote sustainable use of living marine resources in the Town of Southold. Our proposal is sustaining the use of living marine resources in the Town of Southold. This dock is a part of an aquaculture operation. Policy 12 Protect agricultural lands in the Town of Southold. This proposal will have no effects on the agricultural lands in the Town of Southold. Policy 13 Promote appropriate use and development of energy and mineral resources. Our proposal will have no effects on the use and development of energy and mineral resources. !
