The committee discussed the many applications received since December 15th. There are four on the County waiting list. Gerry Dennehy will check with Arthur Kunz as to their status. Hiram Moody property, Fishers Island - Art wrote to Mr. Calhoun, President of FIDCO regarding public access to this property. To date, we have not received a reply. LaColla Estate, Southold - Art wrote to Mr. Cuddy stating the committee's position. Timothy Coffey property - placed on hold, as he is in Florida. It was decided that we tell him that unless we hear from him by April 1st, we will consider his application withdrawn. Cassidy property - Art walked the property and said it was a unique parcel. It was suggested that Mr. Cassidy be contacted and invited to attend our next meeting so that he can answer some of the committee members~questions concerning its status. -2- McGuire property - Art wrote to tell him that the committee felt his property was not appropriate for acquisition. It is not in agricultural production and public access is severely limited. Stella Sledjeski - This is a very attractive parcel of real estate, in current agricultural production. It is 27 acres. Art will write to Stella to ask her to clarify the ownership of this property before asking for an appraisal. Sanford Hanauer property - Art will write to Mr. Hanauer. The committee's position has not changed regarding his property. It is not eligible under the conditions he has set forth to the Town. Parker, Chester and Betsey Dickerson property - The committee voted to have an appraisal done on the 2 farm parcels on Youngs Avenue, $outhold, a combined total of 43 acres. Art has written letters to Adrian H. Courtenay, Jon Wolff/Milton Point, San Andres Vineyards, Madeline & Vernon Moelius, John P. Krupski, and Harry & Stella Sledieski to let them know we have had a marked increase in applications and that the procedures required by law will take time. The committee decided to attempt to broaden its appraisal base, as most local appraisers are very busy because of refinancing of mortgaged properties. The next meeting of the Land Preservation Committee will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 1992 at 7:30 p.m. at Southold Town Hall. Res~pectfully submitted. · Joyce M. Wilkins, Secretary
