LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 1998
MINUTES
Present were: Dick Ryan, Jim Pim, Fred Lee, Reed Jarvis, Brian
Murphy, Tim Caufield, Hoot Sherman, Joe Cherepowich Maryann Santacroce,
Ed Ernst, Angela Norton, Walter and Jean Simendinger.
Cherepowich application - the property is located east of Shipyard Lane
in East Marion. There are approximately 22 acres involved. A motion
was made by Jim Pim and seconded by Fred Lee to recommend to the
Town Board that an appraisal be done on this property. All were in favor.
Ernst application - There are approximately 51 acres for farmland preserva-
tion. Ed Ernst and Angela Norton along with Mr. & Mrs. $imendinger
brought pictures of the property for the committee to see also maps of
the property. Dick asked Mr. Ernst to more specific drawings, which
the committee would then review.
Reinhardt application - a public hearing will be held on November 24th
for the purchase of development rights on this property.
Community Preservation Plan - Melissa Spiro, Valerie Scopaz, Dick Ryan
and Tim Caufield are meeting tomorrow afternoon and will try to chart
a course to take re: land preservation priorities.
Two weeks ago Reed, Brian, Jean, Dick and Noreen put up signs on
some of the preserved land letting the public know that these lands
are being preserved by the Town.
Stella Sledjeski - Dick received a call from one of the owners, who is
interested in meeting again about the sale of the development rights on
this property. However, all owners are not in accord.

The next meeting of the Land Preservation Committee will be held
on Monday, December 21, 1998 at 7:30 p.m. at Southold Town Hall.
With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned
at 10:00 p.m.
