USED AG-BAG SYSTEM FOR SALE
AG-BAG SYSTEM. The following items comprise the "Ag-Bag" system. The "Ag-
Bag" (stands for "agricultural bag") is a Iow-tech system for composting organic
material "in vessel", that is, in PODS that are actually large (1 O' diameter, 200'
long), heavy plastic agricultural bags. It consists of an encapsulator that fills the
bags; fans, or blowers, that keep the filled bags aerated (NOTE: plastic aeration
tubing that connects to the blowers is NOT included herein); 'Y' connectors for
the blowers (these allow the blowers to aerate two bags at once); bag sealers;
innoculant that is added to the organic material to help start the composting
process; vents for the bags; and the bags themselves. BIDDERS ARE NOT
REQUIRED TO BID ON THE ENTIRE SYSTEM, however bids will be evaluated based
on the highest total received for the several components, such that if a package
bid for several items together exceeds individual bids for those same items, the
package bid will be considered the highest.

All items are located on the property of the Southold Solid Waste Transfer Station,
6155 Cox Lane, Cutchogue, NY (631-734-7685). Interested parties may view the
equipment during normal business hours, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through
Sunday (7 days). Inquiries concerning the items being offered may be directed
officially to Sonthold Town Solid Waste Coordinator James Bunchuck during

The bid must be accompanied by a Non-Collusive Bid Certificate, which may be

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Southold is
offering for sale the following USED/SURPLUS EQUIPMENT by the SOUTHOLD
TOWN SOLID WASTE DISTRICT to the highest bidder:
1985 STECO Trailer w/Hyd. Push Out Wall ($7500 obo) and
1996 Ag-Bag PT Driven w/29 Pods, 17 Electric Blowers and more.
All items are located on the property of the Southold Solid Waste Transfer Station,
6155 Cox Lane, Cutchogue, NY (631-734-7685). Interested parties may view the
equipment during normal business hours, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through
Sunday (7 days). Inquiries concerning the items being offered may be directed
officially to Southold Town Solid Waste Coordinator James Bunchuck during
normal Business Office hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
The bid must be accompanied by a Non-Collusive Bid Certificate, which may be
obtained at the Southold Town Clerk's Office, Town Hall, PO Box 1179, 53095
Main Road, Southold, N.Y. 11971 (63 l) 765-1800, and a bank draft or certified
check in the amount of $100.00.
The sealed bid(s) will be received by the Southold Town Clerk, at the Southold Town
Hall, 53095 Main Road, PO Box 1179, Southold, New York 11971, until 10:00 A.M.,
Thursday, June 25, 2009 at which time they will be opened and read aloud in public.
The Town Board of the Town of Southold reserves the right to reject any and all
bids and waive any and all informalities in any bid should it be deemed in the best
interest of the Town of Southold to do so
All bids must be signed and sealed in envelopes plainly marked, "Bid on
Used SWMD Equipment", and submitted to the Office of the Town Clerk.

In addition,
WHEREAS the Town has determined the potential value of the Steco trailer and the Ag Bag
system to be significantly higher than the bids received for these items, it is further
RESOLVED that all bids received for same are hereby re[ected; and that the Town Clerk is
authorized to re-advertise for bids for these items and the Solid Waste Coordinator is
authorized to place advertisements for same with "Tractorhouse.com" and the publication
"Lancaster Farming" respectively.
